      "Legalzoom auto renewed the Register Agent subscription for $249 for the year 2025 auto renewed in May 2024 and I wasnt notified about it. I had terminated my LLC business in Feb 2024 and no longer needed any registrar services. I reached out to Legalzoom customer care for refund since my business no longer exist and I wont be needing any services in 2025. They refused to refund the money and wants me to pay for product/ services I wont be using." Above is a quote from the latest complaint on this site. Legal Zoom did the exact same thing to me 2 years in a row now. But this year they are stating they won't refund me. Below is the email they sent me today. Hi ***********,Thank you for being the best part of LegalZoom.I hope this email finds you well. According to your account, the $299 charge for the Registered Agent is to ensure the business is in good standing in the state. Additionally, we're unable to process the refund for the order as it is a renewal service. No worries, as the services have already been canceled in the account to avoid future charges.If you have any questions or if anything else comes up, we are here to help.Best Regards,Your LegalZoom Team That's a LOAD OF C*** when I cancelled 2 years ago.

      I am currently a customer with ********************** after forming my L.L.C, with legal zoom services, I applied for a ***** through legal zoom partnership with the **** and legal zoom made me aware as well of this ***** and being the winner of this ***** in the amount of 500 dollars that I can apply to any legal zoom product or service long as its used at one time with checkout, I have been given the runaround from the sales department , to being told supervisors would call me back and the ***** ** a winner of expires at a certain time frame. I would like to utilize my ***** as the *************** chose me to be a winner of and that are the rules of this *****! Legal zoom should not be able to steal my ***** from me.

      I was reviewing my Amex statement today and see a charge for $500.10 from LegalZoom. I never placed any order or have ever done any business with LegalZoom. I have no idea what this charge is for. I reached out to LegalZoom customer support through email who keeps asking me for the email address I placed this order with. Since I never placed any order, I can't provide any email address or any other information regarding this fraudulent charge.

      On July 10th, 2023, I started the process of dissolving my company. I figured having LegalZoom to handle it for me, would save me time, money and hassle, but I was clearly mistaken. After having sent the tax clearance certificate that they requested in August of 2023, 4x now via email. As of August 1st, 2024, my dissolution is still not resolved. They said they still needed the Tax Clearance Certificate, yet they confirmed 12 weeks ago that the process would be done in 2-3 weeks, yet nothing has been done. It is disgusting that I have had to follow up as many times as I have, when it is their responsibility to be completing this. I am requesting a refund of services which is outlined in the settlement. The service has been disgusting and inexcusable.

      LegalZoom is a predatory subscription service that has charged me for many years despite not having authorization and zero use of their services. I am dealing with health challenges, hospitalizations and disabilities and I was not aware of these unauthorized charges. On 07.19.23 LegalZoom sent an email saying that my account would not renew unless I updated a credit card which I did not. Still they managed to charge me.On 07.08.24, I became aware that I was being chargedwithout authorization. I called LegalZoom and was told that their"policy" does not allow them to issue a refund. I arguedthat their"policy" should not prevent them from doing what is ethical. They would not budge so I cancelled the renewal and asked for an email confirmation which I received.On 08.01.24 I received anemail saying "Your personallegal plan will automatically renew for another length in amount of $199.00 unless you cancel before July 31, 2024." I called LegalZoom again,and spoke to Von. She said that I should not have received the email, that myaccount is canceled and that I should "disregard" the email. She escalated this to ******. Again LegalZoom said that theywillnot issue a refund. Now their excuse is that it is because I do no have an account. She assured me that LegalZoom will not bill me for anything in the future. I ASK THAT LEGALZOOM REFUND 2 YEARS OF UNAUTHORIZEDCHANGES FOR SERVICES THAT I DID NOT USE. AT $199.00PER YEAR TOTALLY $398.00.

      Used Legal Zoom for a will was happy with results. Was signed up for a renewing yearly subscription @$199. Per year that I did not know about or want. Cancelled subscription as soon as I found out about it. But would like a refund for current yearly charge. Call several times but was told I needed to cancel within 30 days of original date . Explained several times that I was unaware of subscription so was also unable to cancel it. Called within 30 days of renewal but not able to get a refund. Any help would be appreciated R *****

      On 7/18/24 I paid Legal Zoom $209 to set up an *** in the state of ********. I intended to pay an additional $199 for state compliance which was to be billed 10 days later. LZ called me & said I had to pay an additional $149 for federal compliance. I said I would do this once the *** was approved. I was told I would face criminal ****************** if I did not pay for this now. I refused & asked how I could I be federally compliant without an *** yet. 7/26 I received a text that my *** was not approved & I needed to pick a new name, which I did. While checking my credit card, I noticed 2 charges: 7/18 for $209 & 7/19 for $199. On my LZ account, I noticed there was a 3rd charge due for $199 (state compliance). I asked what the $199 charge on 7/19 was for. I was told that there was an additional charge for a Registering Agent (RA) which I did not authorize nor agree to. When I asked how I could be charged for something I did not authorize, he said it was mandatory & I needed it. This is deceptive as it is not disclosed anywhere in the paperwork when I signed up & I did not agree to pay this. I argued that it should have been on the payment section stating that I would be charged $607 instead of $408. When signing up, there is nothing that states there will be an additional charge for an RA until after you pay & get a receipt for it. During the call on 7/31 I asked to cancel the state compliance subscription for $199, which they said they would do. There has been no update for my *** name change. I had to lock my credit card so more unauthorized charges could not be made. I was told by my credit card that ** had tried to make $600 more unauthorized charges on this card. I want a refund for $408 as I did not authorize the **** there is no progress on the ***. Everything about Legal Zoom's practice has been misleading, deceptive & predatory.

      I was charged with a subscription that I did not want nor was aware of - resulting in an additional charge of $199 over the agreed upon subtotal of $421 (Spread over 3 payments). My emailed receipt shows a subtotal of $421 (attached). But on the date of 7/30 I was charged an amount that surpassed this agreed upon total. When i called to get a refund I was told that it had been over 30 days since I purchased the subscription (12 hours after the 30day ****** same day of the charge that evoked concern). I am complaining because this subscription was added on without my consent - and the charge was not at all present on the receipt for additional services purchased after the initial payment. Otherwise I would have called immediately. My receipt subtotal is $421 (agreed upon amount) - But the amount charged is $620..

      I had an active LLC up until last year. Since about June-July 2023, the business has been inactive and so I called legal zoom to cancel my recurring payments to which they said no problem. Fast forward to a few days ago they charged my account for $550.00 and said it's my fault and they have no record of me calling last year in 2023. They refuse to refund me and I'm scared they will charge me again in 2025 and I will have to call, cancel my account for the third time, not get a refund and then have to do this again in 2026...

      I recently had a very disappointing experience with LegalZoom. Earlier this year, I paid them $180 to dissolve my LLC. However, I was later charged an additional $299 for a subscription fee that I did not authorize. When I contacted their customer service, I was told that the fee is non-refundable. This unexpected charge and the unhelpful response from their support team have left me very dissatisfied. I would not recommend LegalZoom based on my experience.
