I went to the Menkes Clinic to remove some brown spots and improve the quality of my skin. Dr. **** recommended the Fraxel laser for a one-time treatment of $1340.On June 30th, 2022, I shared before and after photos to show that there were no improvements and I was unhappy with the lack of results. I had come into the office a week after the procedure and was reporting that I didn't see results. Dr. **** shared that it takes a couple of weeks for me to see the full results and that's why I waited, and when I still saw no results I took the "after" photos. On July 6th, 2022, I came in for another evaluation with Dr. ***** She shared a quote that was not close to a comparable option. It only treated some of the brown spots, while the Fraxel was for the entire face. I went to get a second opinion from another dermatologist that same day. The dermatologist evaluated the treatment option and said they weren't sure why Dr. **** would recommend the treatment, so I asked Menkes Clinic for a refund. On July 20th, 2022, I followed up and asked for a refund again. A couple of days later, ********************* (the office manager) said that she "has completed a refund request form and sent it to our practice manager."On August 8th, 2022, I checked back again, and then on August 21st and ***** shared that I needed to call the billing department for the refund. The billing department said that there was nothing initiated yet. I then received a note from the practice manager ******* who rejected my request for a refund on false claims that there were improvements, where there were none.I then called their parent company Golden State Dermatology and they said to email ******** who leads the billing department, and that they would look into it. I followed up three times and never heard back.I've been more than reasonable with my time and acted in good faith throughout this process. I hope the Menkes Clinic (Golden State Dermatology) can also be reasonable and issue a refund.
