I brought my car in to have the vacuum pump and cam shaft replaced and 4 days after receiving my car back from the mechanic the engine seized on the freeway and so I call the mechanic and the first thing he does is argue it’s nothing he fixed. He then meets my husband where the car ended up on the side of the freeway and proceeds to argue with me. We had just paid him $2800 to repair the car and got it back worse than it was before and he refuses to own up to the faulty work and instead is telling us to pay more money when it literally wasn’t a week later we got the car back. Car ended up being towed back to my home from his shop and he did not put parts back together on my engine and it’s now non-operational but yet he was paid and I am out of a car due to his horrible work. I want my car fixed properly and shouldn’t have to be charged more money when he is the reason the car is in the shape it’s in.Business response

On may 10 2023 ******** towed in 2017 Chevy Malibu 1.5l T. With crank no start condition. During diagnostic it was discovered engine had a broken vacuum pump. The vacuum pump froze which caused the pump drive output shaft to break the exhaust camshaft reluctor wheel. Customer was informed. Gave authorization to repair. Exhaust camshaft ,vacuum pump and associated parts were replaced. All parts were sourced from Paradise Chevrolet of Temecula. We informed customer that an oil change was recommended. Customer originally refused. Stating oil change had been performed recently. I informed her that i really recommend an oil change using Dextos 1 5/30w synthetic oil. She relented and we performed oil change. Vehicle was test driven after repairs, Engine running well, no engine warnings. There was a lifter ticking sound that i notified customer about. Since vehicle came in not running I don't know if that lifter tick was a preexisting condition. Customer paid and took vehicle. I was called Monday May 29th and told the vehicle had stopped and wouldn't start. I had vehicle towed to shop. Verified crank no start condition. Removed vacuum pump. It was in perfect condition. Verified work we performed was not problem. Removed #2 spark plug. It showed damage that something in cylinder had struck it. Electrode was broken off. Boroscope #2 cylinder observed piston damage. Did research came across GM *** # N********* Stating that the PCM has a timing issue that can cause preignition leading to piston Failure. Saw class action lawsuit regarding this piston failure issue. I notified customer that the damage that they were experiencing was not due to work we had performed. I showed Husband that parts we replaced were still working properly. I showed them the *** N*********. They were not happy. I towed the car to their home.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
Pierre NEVER informed myself or husband of what he is telling you guys. He told us we needed a whole engine and was charging an additional $2800 after we had just paid him $2800 the week before. All of the parts that he replaced we stolen by him and I say stolen because we paid for them but when I received my car back it’s all missing. The video will prove that. He has lied multiple times not only to myself, my family, the loan company I paid him through, but also to your company stating he did amazing work on my car and that’s clearly a lie of 4 days after getting it back the engine seized while on the freeway. His shop had my car for a week and claimed to have done a full diagnostic on the car and if that is true he should have seen all that was wrong but no he half ass fixed my car so I would have to pay more money for more repairs.
