Unbeknownst to me, this gas station's pumps were malfunctioning. I was charged $180 for a $60 purchase. They refuse to give me a refund of the $120 that they owe me, which is fraud.Business response

Hello,
We received this complaint and have reviewed the matter. It appears that the customer is upset that a temporary hold was placed on his credit card. Our gas station does not place any holds on any credit or debit cards. Instead, those are done directly by the credit and debit processing company, which is administered by Shell Oil, in concert with the card issuer. This has always been the case. There is no involvement from us as the Retailer.
It seems that, after these temporary holds were removed by Shell, the Customer was only charged for the fuel that he purchased. This is confirmed by the customer himself in his complaint. As such, there is nothing else that must be done by either party. We consider this matter closed. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because Shell's gas pumps malfunctioned; and I was charged $180 instead of $60 for gas. All the lights came on at the pumps, which indicated that they were malfunctioning, unbeknownst to me. I was assured that I would not be charged more than $60, which was a lie. Also, damage was done to my 2023 ***** Accord. I came back to this Shell station three times, because there was no manager present. I had to go to the nearest ***** dealership twice to order a new part, and to have it installed. I am *********** compensation for the time that I wasted, in an amount not less than $500, which the local manager has refused. If necessary, I will take Shell and the manager and others to small claims court, although I would prefer to settle this without doing so. Other customers of Shell at this location may have encountered similar problems, and they should be compensated too.

3-18-2023 approx 5pm Visiting ****, I stopped for gas and coffee and bought an off brand bag Cheetos, got out to the car and realized they expired 6 months ago. Tried to return or exchange them but was told no refunds or exchanges under any circumstances. I realize its only $5 but in reading other Yelp reviews, they have a history of ripping people off, especially for their car washes. I left a pretty scathing Yelp review but thought it was time they be turned in to the. BBB. Thanks.
