I went to Alora Dentistry 3 times this year. First visit was on 03/20/24 for a regular cleaning, second on 03/27/2024 for a cavity and tooth filling, and the last visit on 04/02/2024 for 4 wisdom teeth extractions. For all of these visits I was charged $2,130.40 on 4/1. I was skeptical as this seemed like too much money and asked is this was with insurance and the lady said yes. I recently was looking through my dental coverage and came across my dental bill for all 3 procedures. My dental claims states I was only responsible for $305.40 of the $3,145 billed. I then contacted my dental insurance and they reassure me I was overcharged and should be receiving a refund and they would get in contact with the dental office. My insurance called me today 5/7 and said they charged me $1300 for collagen plugs and that they just forgot to add it to the bill. The bill they gave me on the day of the procedure did not include the charge for collagen plugs nor did the dentist tell me or ask if I wanted them as my insurance does not cover it and it would cost me $1300 out of pocket. They are also charging me over $300 for sterilization of materials on 3/24 but I was not there that day and that is also not on my receipt. They are charging me for things that are not on my receipt/ claim because they forgot to add it. I do not recall receiving the collagen plugs or being told I would be receiving them and being charged that much or it being on the receipt. As for the sterilization charge I was not in their office the day of that charge and it also was not on the receipt/claim submitted. I am aware that I was overcharged and just want to be refunded my money
