This smog station located at this 76 gas station is unprofessional and dishonest. The manager Jabar failed my vehicle due to a visual inspection stating the catalytic converter was tampered with and never explained what that meant. Leading me to believe a new catalytic converter was needed after it was replaced in 2017. I called Universal Mechanic shop and they provided the numbers to the catalytic converter and said it should pass smog after paying $1,480 for the repairs.I took the car back to Jabar with the numbers for the catalytic converter and he looked with a mirror this time and said the numbers didn't match again. So we took the vehicle back to Universal they replaced the catalytic converter and said to take it back to Jabar and Jabar never even looked it and claimed they put the same part back on and it did not pass smog! Jabar was paid for the initial smog and became very argumentative and was extremely rude and disrespectful claiming Universal Mechanics does not know what they are talking about and don't know what they are doing. This is a very reputable business within the community and definitely have there license on the line. We took the vehicle back to Universal Mechanics paid another $70 and the vehicle passed smog with absolutely no issues. I called the Redwood Smog Shop and asked to speak with the owner, I was told by a gentlemen by the name of Asul or Azul that the owner would be there in the morning. Within less than 5 minutes, I received a call from the Manager Jabar stating I can talk with him because his father was the owner. I told Jabar I wanted my money back for the smog and the $50 for the 60 day extension I had to get from DMV due to his lack of knowledge or I was turning him in to the state. Jabar said to go ahead and that he had all of the paperwork and said you are not speaking to my father. I have only received paperwork from the first initial smog which states everything passed except for the visual inspection. So I would love to know where the other paperwork is that we never received due to he definitely did not do his job at all!!! I want a refund for all of my unnecessary expenses due to his poor judgment and apparently lack of knowledge. I want compensation which is all of my money refunded asap!!
