March 2023 I was contacted by *********************** with Solex Renewables. His first lie was that I would get over $8000 back on my Federal Tax Return. He did not tell me that the rebate was only as much as my tax credit so I did not see that full rebate. The second lie I was told with the panels I would produce 105% of the power I needed and every May I would receive a check from Duke Energy for the extra solar I produced. I was looking forward to and depending on these funds.I spoke with Duke today to see when that check would be coming and they told me that is not how they operate. Solar credit rolls over month over month towards my bill, everything extra I produce and don't use goes back to 0 each year. There will be no check or compensation. My solar bill for the panels is $177. Which is much more than any electric bill I would have received without having the panels.Additionally the interest on this loan is insane. So there is literally no value or savings in me having these panels. I was misled and lied to and am now stuck with a large solar payment each month that won't be paid off for 25 years! This company's contact email on their website does not work nor does the number listed on their ****** Business Profile. Hoping BBB can help otherwise I'll be reaching out to the media.Initial Complaint

Hello,We contracted Solex Solar Energy as our contractor for solar panels. In our contract they included the purchase and installation of 3 skylights. They completed the solar installation successful and without issues. However, right after that around February 2020, COVID hit and we were unable to proceed with contacting the assigned contractor for the skylights. Once we felt comfortable with having people in our home we went ahead and contacted the sales representative to ask for the contact info of the roofer would be installing the previously purchased skylights. The sales rep let us know that company had gone out of business, but still was helpful enough to give us the roofer's phone number.Once we contacted the roofer, he let us know he did not know anything about our contract or about the work he was supposed to perform for us. We sent him our contract with specifies his name and the type of work he would be performing and he said he had no recollection of this information and he was never paid for this work. We are now stuck with 3 purchased skylights and unable to install them as the contracted roofer is saying he would have to charge us full price to install them if we want to move forward with it. We are seeking any help the BBB can offer since we do not know who to go to or contact for help on this. Since the company closed, we do not know who can be held accountable for this and we already paid for this work. It's very frustrating and we are hoping for some assistance or advice on how to move forward with this project. Thank you.
