I signed a loan contract for a pilot school loan in November 2023. My program started in January and due to issues, I had to withdraw in May 2024. I only borrowed $21,000 (the full loan amount was $123,000 with financing on the full amount, but I only received one disbursement for $21,000). Stratus is now trying to charge me $22,00 finance charge (after clearly stating multiple times they would charge $6000), as well as 10% monthly interest on $123,000, instead of the $21,000 I actually received. The representatives of this company do not speak fluent English and will purposely tell you one thing on the phone, and then put something else in writing. They refuse to give me an address for my lawyer to send a certified letter. They also will not admit to nor provide their (supposedly) recorded phone conversation where they promised the finance charge would be $6,000. My loan, which is $21,000, now supposedly has a balance of $42,000 with a rate of adding $12/day in interest. They wait days to respond to emails to drag out the days.Initial Complaint

I took out a pilot loan for this company April of 2023. Unfortunately, I had to process a medical withdraw due to emergency back surgery needed. Prior to my surgery I called Stratus June of 2023 to inform them I was no longer in school and the school would refund them the funds given to them. May 17th 2024 Stratus took $736.45 from my bank account without my knowledge. I called them that day informing them of the situation. Stratus is stating that I still owe them over $40,000 and they will not refund me my $736.45 that was withdrawn from my account. *** called and called and the representative ****** only says Im sorry youre dealing with this. She also informed me that since I didnt email them stating I wasnt in school anymore there is nothing she can do. This has placed me in a financial burden and I am not receiving any help on this matter. This company is going to continue to withdraw money from my account placing more stress on me. I need help getting this entire loan taken off my credit and put to a zero balance. These representatives barely speak English and its hard to get in touch with them.
