At first the price listed online was changed on me once I was interested in the vehicle. They did the oh it was a mistake on our end the price was listed incorrectly. Me still being very interested in that specific vehicle I proceeded with the paperwork for purchase. I am located across the country so making this purchase was nerve wrecking & a learning experience When i can legally drive the vehicle I go ahead and schedule an appointment at my local dealer. I bring it in for inspection and they do a walkthrough of the vehicle on the ********** can clearly see it has a pre existing oil leak on the drive axle on one side only. I then go ahead reach out to my sales rep and he claims there were no issues prior. He provided all these documents stating no leaks, no problems, etc. As seen in the pictures attached, that is a pre existing oil leak. You can tell its not fresh due to debris build up.I requested assistance on the repair and was simply told no. I called the following the day and spoke to the general manager ********************************* & in his words to me i will not partake in any needed repairs. Once the vehicle is sold, I wash my hands with that transaction. Especially after 2 months.Business response

Phillips Auto takes our Out of State/Country Sales/Buyers transactions and processes very seriously as they make up for nearly 50% of our sales. We are very proficient and skilled in these transactions and the processes that are required. This as we understand the sensitivity and concerns of Out of State/Country buyers that do these transactions not physically seeing or coming to the dealership.
Therefore, to address the statements made in this complaint filed with the BBB:
As Phillips Auto is regulated by the State of Calif DMV on required paperwork for Out of State/Country Sales we provide buyers with these documents and we provide buyers with a nationwide DMV Service. As a State of Calif dealer, we are not possibly able to register or process required documents for other States/Countries' requirements or able to control the timeframe for these States/Countries processes.
This always is communicated to Out of State/Country Buyers that this process will be handled by an outside service Nationwide DMV Service; not by Phillips Auto and paid by the buyer as documented on the sales contract.
In regard to the claim that this vehicle was compromised: As with all vehicles offered at Phillips Auto; before the vehicle is available for sale they go through a full written inspection; this Inspection was provided to the buyer. As the buyer provided to BBB this inspection one can see that nothing was shown to be compromised and it was noted that Rear Tires were thin. These tires were replaced with new tires prior to becoming available; Phillips Auto always addresss findings on a vehicles inspection. Also as provided to the buyer and posted with the advertising of this vehicle the CarFax shows this Calif one prior owner 2018 *** M3 w/44K miles to have been well cared for and fully serviced at *** thru its prior ownership. Also as offered to the Buyer and to any of our Buyers and encouraged to our out of State/County buyers, is the Buyers Option to have an Independent Third-Party Inspection done prior to purchase of any of our vehicles. This Buyer elected to not have an Independent Third Party Inspection.
