I applied for financing through Point Mortgage back in 2019. This is the title company they used. Point Mortgage buys a percentage of the homes value. You dont make monthly payments but in ten years you repay them based on the equity in your home. To do that I need to either refinance again or sell my home. When they ran my title report a bank I had a lien on my home for a HELOC. I was not aware of this until they sent me a copy of the report. After going back and forth with Point they sent me a new title report and the lien from that bank was removed and the loan with Point was approved. Fast forward to this year, I tried to refinance my existing Point mortgage and the lien is back on my title. So I cant get a new loan to repay Point because of this and when speaking with Point for months they said it was a mistake. So now with this lien I will have no choice but to sell my home in 7 years. The original point was under my old name-********. Im not sure if this was fraud in any way by Point or this title company. I have attached the original title as well as the updated one they sent me before the closing. This never should have went through and now my hands are tied.Business response
