I moved out of Noho 14. Upon handing over my keys, I gave them my forwarding address. I didn't hear anything for nearly a year and a half until December 2023. I started getting calls from a collection agency. They informed me of the Noho 14 complaint. I reached out to Noho 14 and informed them that they had 21 days to send me a bill. They did not send me any correspondence, ever. Therefore, their claim against me is invalid. The person on the phone was incredibly apologetic and says "you're not the only one that has had this problem." She says I need to speak with her community manager ******. ****** is conveniently always "in a meeting" but she did respond to me via Email. She tells me she understands my frustration and will look into it and give me an update. That was the last correspondence from ****** despite repeated calls and emails. I also informed the debt collector of the law and what transpired. ************************* of Genesis ****** then became very aggressive and threatened if I didn't pay my credit would be ruined. I declined to pay, and he stopped calling for about 3 weeks. Now, a new agent has been calling to harass in the past few days.Initial Complaint

I stumbled upon NOHO14 listing, and it seemed like the perfect place for me. I was excited and eager to secure the unit, so I submitted my application and paid the application fee without hesitation. Along with the application fee they had requested for a $500 deposit to hold the unit. They assured me that if I changed my mind, I would get my deposit back. It sounded fair, so I went ahead and paid the deposit. However, as fate would have it, I did change my mind. It was Labor Day weekend (Sep 1st when I gave my $500 deposit) , so I couldn't just storm into their office on Monday since they were closed. Instead, I emailed *******, the person I had been corresponding with. I politely explained that I had a change of heart and no longer wanted to move forward with the application. To my surprise, I received no response. *******, I called ******* the next day and reiterated my decision. She seemed understanding but informed me that it could take up to three weeks for me to receive my deposit back. Fast forward to now, October 16, and still no sign of my money. I've sent countless emails and made multiple calls, but I'm being ignored. It's infuriating! I mean, we're not talking about $20 here; it's $500! It's a significant amount, and I feel cheated. It's just wrong to take someone's money, promise them a refund, and then ignore their attempts to get it back. It's downright unfair and unethical. I hope this situation gets resolved soon because it's not just about the money anymore. It's about being treated with respect and fairness. I just want my $500 back.Customer response
