Scam, do not work with them! This company was assigned by the home warranty company. The technician came, diagnosed the problem, ordered the part to be replaced. When the part came and it was time to replace it, they stated that the insurance company does not cover that part and for them to come and replace it I have to pay out of my pocket for everythin. When I called the insurance company to see what's going on, I found out that in their report, Bear Plumbing put down a completely different issue, way bigger and more serious than it is and added some apparently missing parts. Nowhere in the report was the broken part mentioned, or the fact that they ordered it tI replace it. So basically doing everything possible for the claim to be denied and you'll be forced to pay them directly out of pocket to finish the job. BEAR PLUMBING & ROOTER IS A FRADULENT COMPANY!

Scam Alert. I was assigned this company by my home insurance provider (AHS) Bear showed up, took a 2 second look at my leaky faucet and said, AHS wont cover this for you but I have a new faucet in my truck, I can install it for $XXX right now. Seems like a common shady practice by this company. (Read the other reviews) They then submitted a report to AHS saying the faucet was broken do to excessive blunt force??? Who would do that to be out of a faucet for all the hassle and cost it takes. Avoid this company at all costs.

Bear plumbing came out in August charged me almost 40 Grand one of the checks he should have never processed but that's another story. My house smells I even had to have mike diamond come out and clean out the drain that bear plumbing 9099should have done for all that money he charged me so that's another 1350 plus the job's not done. this was a case of going through the American home shield which seems to keep giving people the same contractor who's doing the same things to everybody American home shield should be held responsible because they're the ones that have him on their list as a contractor which is supposed to be reliable Fair honest which he is none of. AHS needs to also be held responsible for the prices he charged. The job was financially over inflated. I want 15,000 returned to me. This would make the job cost 15,000 I am dealing with AHS and have been since August. I never signed or saw any contract. I received a fraudulent work order from AHS on Dec 3 which when I look at the document creation date it says the file was created nov 30 bear plumbing should do the right thing and refund me the 15,000 he illegally took from my bank who can actually bring charges against him for cashing a check i talked to him about. Also gave him a note with the replacement check I gave him. Lots of fraudulent activity was encountered with this plumber. His actions have been labeled by the doj as felony standings. do not use him because he verbally threatened me on a number of occasions I fear for my safety. No one deserves being in a state of fear every day because the truth was brought to the public and formal reporting agencies. It is time to step up and resolve this situation before it is taken to the next level

ABSOLUTE THIEVES! Really awful company and owner. DO NOT USE Bear Plumbing! They might have the strength of a bear, but only when it comes to ripping off customers.

Unfortunately, my experience with Bear is very much akin to the other horror stories on here. I wish I had looked them up prior, but as they came as the recommended company from AHS home warranty, I thought they would be trustworthy, or at least covered under the warranty. Neither was the case.

I'll try to give the short version of the story: I had a main line back up due to root intrusion, which probably could have been fixed with a hydro-flush, but they said we'll have to dig it out. I as a naive 1st-time homeowner felt pressured by them and the "emergency situation" and stupidly didn't know that I could've got a different company to come out and give a quote.

I don't remember the exact numbers, but the original job was around $2000. However, every time they made a dig, they came up with some reason to do more and ended up at about 6x that cost by the time they were done. The owner (I think) ****, gave different quotes at different times for the same work and was pretty condescending.

Side note: after it was all said and done, I did call another plumber and told him what was done and asked what he would've charged. He answered between 5 and 8,000. In other words, half as much as these thieves charged.

Most of the work got done well, but the 2 main plumbers left without finishing the job. I think one had a family emergency or something. They left some wire and bags of concrete and took off $300 from the charge and said "there you go."

I had to have a concrete worker come in and tell me that they were going to do the job all wrong (they were not going to put in rebar) and that it would take $550 to do it right.

I called **** the owner about this and he was condescending again and agreed to pay me back.

1 year later: he never did. I was on the road, so I didn't pay that much attention. I again called and told **** the story and he was even more condescending this time and said, "maybe it was you that asked them to leave and not finish the job." WTF? Why would I have the workers leave without finishing the job? He never apologized for his crew bailing on their duties, and then he said, "why did you wait a year to bring this up?" I told him that I didn't, in fact him and I had directly spoken about it before and he never mailed the check! He offered to give me a discount on the next job. Obviously I told him I would never use his company again, but I did finally get him to mail a friggin' check. *****!

In my opinion, both AHS and this company are scam artists.
