On Wednesday, August 24 I contacted **** (Carrier Authorized Dealer) about an AC issue. I explained that it had been recently fixed by another AC company and that I was told that the problem might be covered under the manufacturer warranty. **** senT a service technician that afternoon and I explained what work had been completed by a previous AC company. ie: Sealed coil line, which didn't work and pressurized the coil to see if there was a leak, which proved there was and that the coil needed to be replaced. The technician at this point went outside took a quick look at the unit without even touching it. He then proceeded to sit on the side of my house for 25 minutes taking a personal phone call. After his call he came inside and told me that they needed to pressurize the coil to see it there was a leak. This would cost $1575. At this point he left. He never went in the attic to check out the coil. He never looked at anything else during his visit. He based his recommendation on what I had previously told him from the previous AC company. And for this I was charged $135. I would like a refund of my service call.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/09/06) */ We sent a service tech out on 8/24/2022 and then set a second employee out on 8/25/2022 to inspect the coil in the attic and take pictures and confirm the date of manufacture from the data plate on the coil. The coil is an AllStyle brand coil s/n ********* which has a production date of 2011. That coil is more than 10 years old and therefore is out of warranty. ***** our salesman called ************ on 8/26/2022 at 1:51pm and left a message for her. They eventually made telephone contact and *** gave her two prices, one to replace the coil with another AllStyle coil and a second price to install a new Carrier coil and a new plenum. She opted to have someone else do the replacement. The $135.00 that she paid was for the initial service call and there were no additional charges for any subsequent work. This is a fair charge and the decision was hers to not move forward with the work. If she had us do the work the service call would have been applied toward the repair.
