March 20th 2023 I hired **** Moving *** to move from **********, ********** to **********/new York after talking with one of the sales manager ******************************* ************************* He quoted me at 7$ for cu.ft plus trip fee, fuel surcharge minus a manager discount. We went over inventory and he quoted me at 400 cu.ft for a total of $2,195 The day of the move the people that came started claiming that the amount was double than what I was quoted.(Impossible because I left behind couch, chairs, no dining table to bulky items)They told me I was going to pay double because of the much bigger cubic feet amount and that I should agree to a flat rate. It was psychological harassment. They didnt want to do the job by the cubic feet while at reservation I was told that they would have measure the cubit feet and charged accordingly once the truck was filled but they claimed that wasnt an option.They said if I didnt agree to the flat rate they would have left and I could hire someone else but I had to move and empty the apartment that day so I didnt have that privilege. What a mistake it was. Once they left me the paperwork I actually saw the cubic feet total they had in the truck and it was 425 cu.ft .I spent three months trying to speak with someone also because they had my stuff in storage and I needed to know how to have it back. My thought was that they didnt even have my stuff anymore. When I finally find someone to talk with i just wanted my stuff back and when I mention it at first she was like I dont know why you were charged like that something is wrong, after putting me on hold she said oh well you agreed to the flat rate nothing I can do for you.After multiple talk she gave me 200$discount.I was still charged $4200instead of $3300. at reservation I didnt have address I asked for ** and ** and the same ******* told me that there wasnt going to be any change in the rate. Just be aware they are scammer they will overcharge and play on your need to move
