I was unemployed in 2021 and was referred by the ********************************* to the Oakland Private Industry Council (Oakland ***) to see if they would support my training needs. In February 2022 I was informed by ******************* that Oakland *** would pay the *********************** (HCI) in full ($2,795) for my completion of the Strategic HR Business Partner Certification through the **** program. The Oakland *** signed a letter of intent committing to paying HCI for this training. I completed the training in May, 2022 and HCI has been trying to collect payment from HCI ever since. HCI and I have both submitted all of the necessary information and documentation for payment, and **** has told both HCI and myself numerous times that "the check is being processed". Both HCI and I have followed up numerous times when the check has repeatedly failed to arrive and **** eventually stopped responding. I've sent emails to the Oakland *** Executive Director, CFO and Accounts ************* and nobody has responded. I've called and talked to their front desk, and have been told that the matter will be looked into, but nobody has gotten back to me. It's been nine months since I completed the training/certification program and I feel bad that HCI still hasn't been paid. I'm hoping that the BBB can help to get this resolved. I really appreciate the support from the *** to help me up-level my skills in my time of need, but it's been very stressful trying to get Oakland *** to make good on their commitment to pay for it.
