Let me start out by saying I did read their "rules" upon entry and understood a 20% tip was automatically included at the end of service... I think folks that work at nail salons and provide these services do deserve a 20% tip as long as they do a good job. There were 4 people in my party. Started out with pedicures... the basic which included a longer then normal foot massage, scrub, mask, hot stone, hot towel, and an alcohol drink and a chocolate. It was nice I don't have many complaints about it. I just got a basic color nothing fancy. Moved on to a full set. I just asked for a French manicure with black tips instead of white. She proceeded to do pink acrylic.... It seemed like a lot she was putting on... it wasn't my first full set but I figured she knows what she's doing, and idk sometimes start out with more and work your way down? We'll she did quite a bit of shaving down afterwards... then she went ahead to paint on the black tips..a little messy,. But she went back and used a brush with acetone to clean it up.I was charged $65 for the full set. And $55 for the pedicure & a $24 tip automatically so $144 total for me. One other person in my party got the same thing I did however had gel polish with multiple colors on different fingers and matter top coat and was charged $138 . The other two people in my party had same pedicure and just a gel manicure Got charged $108 each. I was unaware until after we left but everyone else in my party was charge $50 for the pedicure.... Not sure how mine was different. On the way home as I admire my nails... I'm noticing the acrylic that was laid on is still SO THICK it's actually bigger then my nails alone. The rest of that day my fingers were actually pretty sore and have been a little swollen ..My evening was busy I went about my day... and I just let I go and continued on. Next day I'm looking again, there's acrylic way to close and some on top of my cuticles. Ouch. As I look at the sides of my nails, I can see the acrylic and my own nail is actually exposed on the sides, the acrylic not covering my whole nail. Next day, paint is already chipped and coming off... I noticed some black tips had two coats others had one and I could see through them... also noticed the "pink acrylic" is now looking yellow. Needless to say I'm not happy... and again if folks do a decent job, don't rush, and are kind & friendly, I'm not opposed to a 20% tip... but with the type of pricing a 20% tip and this sloppy of a job...... it is NOT worth it or the extra massage and alcoholic drink... I'll be going somewhere else this weekend to get this fixed. The two in my party who only had gel manicures were also very unhappy... said the people who did their nails attempted to pressure them to get full sets because with "gel on their nails directly their nails would just break off" .. idk could be true but people get normal manicures all the time and do not want full sets and if that's all they want there shouldn't be a question..They also both wanted every other nail painted a different color.. one of them got push back and eyes rolled so she said never mind and just got all the same... the other one got push back but insisted that's what she wanted. We won't be going back. And I don't recommend that you do either.**** update to reply because I am not sure how, I've been getting full sets and fills for a decade, and never had this "normal breakage". But thanks, I'm not sure How calling the shop is going to correct anything, as there's no way I would ever return. To add: after sharing reviews , owner has proceeded to deleted reviews and comments to hide the poor reviews and service being provided he has bullied and harassed clients, blocked them from being able to leave reviews or defend the comments he is making. It is so unprofessional it seems as tho he is producing positive reviews and has made posts about clients getting other people who havent been to his salon to write bad reviews. I can vouch for 3 of the reviews that he is claiming are false because we were in the salon together. Over charging, not providing good service, I was in pain days afterwards, my nails are discolored this is not okay and I would not recommend anyone to go here for one being unsafe and dangerous to your nails and skin, and for two scamming with his prices and implementing a 20% tip. Regardless of its posted its poor business to demand that and provide the subpar service thats being provided.
