I purchased a 6 month online course for $4,395 on December 1st 2023, called The Painful Sex Solution run by a nurse called K**** *****. After watching a webinar and signing up to a mailing list for a number of months with marketing emails promising hope of resolving chronic vulval pain. I arranged a free google meet call to discuss if she could help me after discussing my long history with vulvodynia. She assured me treatment was poor in the UK, the majority of her clients are from the UK apparently and there are medical treatments that could resolve this and in her experience with many women the type of vulvodynia I had could be resolved. Unfortunately I believed her. As well as multiple sclerosis (the likely cause of my vulval pain) I have fibromyalgia, adenomyosis, endometriosis cliteral pain etc and I have had vulval pain since I was 16 years old. I am now 47. I've been unable to work for nearly 20 years due to disability caused by MS. I'm on benefits and it was huge amount of money to me. If it had it worked, I could not put a price on its worth which doesn't need saying for someone who lives with chronic pain. To have zero relief still the pain refers down the back of my legs from the vulva and is exactly the same as before I started the course. I was given a time limited offer to get a 500 dollars off the price of the course but it had a tele market feel about the call where I had to make a decision immediately on the call. I couldn't go away and think about it and I now regret the choice I made but at the time I was extremely hopeful I was going to get out of pain as K**** gave me that hope. At first my bank rejected the credit card payment and K**** stayed on the call whilst I rang them which i felt uncomfortable about and used my debit card in the end. The course is due to end at the end of May and I followed her recommendations and the two creams she suggested I use, Estrogen and Clobesol (steroid cream) (which are standard treatment in the vulval genecology clinics) I was shocked when I realized this was the treatment as I have been using these for years and years. The treatment algorithm I printed off from the course is by Dr. A***** ********* a prominent Gynecologists' in the US, it lists treatments that are not even available in the UK such as interferon, topical chromoly, JQ triamcinolone etc, vulvectomy is not readily available either. I used the dilators doing physical therapy, massage, yoga but too be honest these are normal treatments I've been using for years anyway. In the UK we are diagnosed with vulvodynia but not proliferative vulvodynia which I believe I have. I believe mine is caused by damaged nerves and the MS, so the course for me was never going to resolve things. R***** ********* a gynecologists' in the US has told me proliferative type can be with or without redness (redness which I've always had). I asked K**** ***** for half of the fee back which I thought was reasonable but her reply was that she was disappointed, I had gone on another course from the start and she wanted me to stick with the course, largely the lack of progress was my doing. Its very hard because I already for years and years followed what was proposed on the course and had followed her treatment suggestions but to undermine my progress was how she has proceeded. She said she had helped so many women and I was no different or something. This implies she has been able to rectify every woman's vulval pain that came to her but she told me she once gave a woman her money back. She is aware of all the above but has now cut contact. She is also registered with Isswsh another professional body who I am thinking of contacting if I have to. I also want to warn other women with vulvodynia that they must get a diagnosis first (type of vulvodynia) and if not caused by nerve proliferation not to do this course. It's been a nightmare. I'm not sure how a nurse can behave in this way. She isn't wrong that vulvodynia in the UK is poorly treated is that why most of her clients are from the UK. I understand she is using a loophole in the law. Because seemingly I have no comeback or rights in this situation. This would not happen in the UK. When I filled in the payment form online while she was still on the call the terms and conditions mentioned that whether you finish the course or not you still have to pay, nothing about what happens if the treatment doesn't work. I have told K****, I don't doubt her methods help or resolve for some women but not for me with the type of vulvodynia I have. My gynecologists' (who K**** did not want me to consult while I was doing the course) was so angry, she wrote about the course and what I paid in the clinic letter to let my medical team know how serious this vulval pain has affected me but also that I had been vulnerable where this Nurse was concerned. K**** also mentioned she isn't taking any one new for the course as she is looking after someone with cancer.
