I dropped of my truck in the beginning of March 2024 to have them work on it, then picked up my Truck on 07-03-2024.I paid the a total of $13,300.00 ***** the owner promised to get my truck turned on and finish any things the engine need to be complete, all part were supposed to be custom and professional. (it was a newer LS engine going into an older truck. engine and transmission was already installed, ***** just need to finish the details and get it started.) When I got the truck back I was charged for things my truck didn't need like engine ignition switch and keys which ***** installed and they do not work. he removed the gas tank for no reason and left it on the bed of the truck. The only was he was able to turn the truck on was by a Mikey mouse job by hot wiring the engine, which he left all the wires exposed. He used parts that don't belong on the truck. left it leaking gas and power steering fluid. When asked him to go over everything he did to the truck he refused. The truck had a new paint job and I got it back with new scratches all over the truck ***** denied he did the damage. He also left truck outside as he was supposed to keep inside and rims got all *****.***** refuses to give me a receipt for the money I paid. when bringing all this up to him he just ignored me and blocked my number. Nothing ***** supposedly did works, what he promised didn't happen the truck doesn't turned and its not custom work or parts. I paid top dollar to have a custom jobbed I was scammed by this shop now I have to send the truck to another shop to actually get the work doneInitial Complaint

I paid $15,546.36 to coast auto care to complete a transaction swap on a classic truck. I was told in October of 2022 that the was would take only 2 weeks. I paid them up front over the phone and then nothing happened. I called and emailed for 6 months and was always told it will get done but they are busy and have to push me off. Last time I called them and said I need a refund or the job done now because it has taken far too long and I have been more than patient, ***** the owner blocked me. He has blocked every number I call from and it has been a nightmare. I would like any help at all in getting the transmission swap completed as I paid for it.Initial Complaint

I needed the engine and transmission replaced in my **** ***** C-10 Pickup. *****, the owner of Coast Auto Care told me he could do the job. He told me the job would cost $7,000.00. He also converted the truck to power brakes and power steering for an additional $4,000.00 and I requested a new shifter at a cost of ******* dollars. ***** told me he would install the shifter at no cost to me. ***** told me he needed a $5,000.00 "cash" deposit. I gave him the cash and asked for a receipt with a breakdown of the work. I never received it. He had the truck at his shop for two weeks. When I arrived to pickup the truck, ***** requested $7,000.00 cash for payment. $1,000.00 over his verbal quote. I asked to see a breakdown of the fees and he told me he would email it to me. I wanted to see it before I paid for the truck. ***** would not release my truck without being paid the $7,000.00 and told me he would email the breakdown with the receipt for the cash I paid hm, ***** never did. When I drove the vehicle home it did not run properly. It was smoking and leaking engine oil and transmission fluid. The vehicle had numerous problems with the engine, transmission, carburetor and steering. The most serious issue was-Coast Auto Care did not tighten two bolts on the steering. According to an outside mechanic, this issue would have caused an accident resulting in serious bodily injury or death. I was told bring it back. I had it towed at my expense. ***** told me it needed a carburetor ******* dollars. I asked for a written estimate. I never received one. After a week, ***** said the truck was ready. When I arrived to pick it up I was "told" I had to pay $922.89. I asked for a breakdown of repair. I was told to "just pay it if you want your truck back." As of 4/10/2023 I have not had any calls to Coast Auto Care returned I still do not have a receipt for the $12,000.00 cash I paid him. It cost me $3,594.82 to have my truck fixed correctly by another mechanic.Initial Complaint

In May of 2022 I contacted ***** who owns Coast Autocare if he would be able to do an engine swap on my **** z71. I told him I wanted to be able to still use my stock gauges and have my ac run. Because I literally just had my ac serviced. He assured me he could do it and they had loaner cars I could use for the time. Those loaner cars are horrible, expired registration, rotting tires, and it died in the middle of the road when I had kids. Almost 2 months later I get my truck back not even complete, all the wiring was just twisted together and covered with electrical tape, has more issues then when I dropped it off, my gauges dont work, cant tell if i have gas, i have no AC like i asked, and i still had to pay him $6000. Now I have to rework everything he did. And when I called him to complain he had the nerve to tell me it was my fault.Initial Complaint

I had purchased a car from the owner of this shop, who claimed the car was in perfect mechanical condition. The car had some body damage, but nothing deal breaking as the price and miles were so low. I test drove the car and it ran fine. I figured the deal was too good to pass up on so I purchased the car. They also claimed to have changed the oil themselves recently, not citing any problems with the oil as I will mention later. The NEXT day, the car would not start. I texted the seller, whom owns and runs this shop, and he claimed it was an issue with the battery. I called AAA and they came to try and start the car. AAA informed me the battery was in working order and that I should tow the car to a mechanic, which is what I did. My mechanic informed me the engine was toast, finding metal shavings in the oil filter. I informed the seller, whom **** and runs this shop, yet he refused to say he knows what happened and still claims it's in "good running and driving condition", which obviously it's not. Car engines that are claimed to be in perfect working condition do not simply fail after one day of normal driving, as the seller is claiming had happened to me. This could have been very dangerous as the engine could have seized while I was driving. Now, I have to figure out how to sum up the immense amount of money to either replace the engine with a used one, or rebuild the engine, which can both cost me easily anywhere from $5,000 to $11,000. I bought the car for $7,900 with zero claim of ANY mechanical problems and that the car was a "Great running and driving ***** v50 wagon".
