Bought a guitar amplifier on 6/10/24 for $52.Amp powers on but it cannot be fully tested without an electric guitar and cable. I took it home and found there is no sound coming from the speaker. Yes, my guitar and cables were in working order and I did test them on another amp I have, just to be certain.I returned to the store on 6/12/24 find out that all sales are final. The manager informed me there was no exceptions, even if the item was defective.While I understand All sales are final on items that can observed/tested, like clothing, household goods, with electrical items its not that simple. What is to stop them from selling items they know dont work? I wouldve accepted store credit, but their only concession was to exchange for something else at the time I tried to return. But I did not have the time to look around and did not trust to buy anything else electrical. It was made aware that this concession was an exception to the rule, which I believe to be deceitful and detrimental to the buyer. While I do feel out of pocket, my concern is the lack of responsibility the store has to its customers who buy these electrical items on good faith that it is working.Can anything be done, or is it just buyer beware?For comparison, Goodwill has a store credit return policy on defective electrical good sold.
