I purchased driving lessons for my nephew on 11/17/22 for $520. Sadly, ****** only got to complete 1 out of his 6 scheduled lessons (11/26/22), before his shocking, untimely demise on 1/8/23 one week before his 18th birthday. I contacted *****, the owner, to notify him about ******* passing as well as to request a refund for the unused driving lessons. We corresponded, via email, between 1/10 1/17. He stated that he had no problem refunding me that portion. ***** also told me that he would have to issue me a check and that he would do so right away. Afterwards, he verified my address, which led me to assume that he was mailing off my check then. I never received the check! I contacted ***** again. He offered to reissue the check. However, I never received that one either.? I alerted ***** about it, on 1/23/23, and he simplify never responded. I am disabled and on a fixed monthly income. Thankfully, I was able to file a dispute with Discover and had the $411 credited back to me. I received a temporary credit and was awaiting and expecting a permanent one. However, ***** had the unmitigated gall and audacity to refute the validity of my claims, despite the fact that they are in writing. Subsequently, we are actively at odds and Discover Card is currently doing a second review of my dispute to evaluate some documentation that ***** has submitted. I have absolutely have no idea of what that could be, I can only say that it is certainly fraudulent and manufactured on his end.I unquestionably never received a refund check from *****, let alone two of them. ***** couldve easily tracked both of the alleged checks! I am in the process of going through one of the most tumultuous and darkest times in my life! I should be allowed to mourn the loss of my nephew without having to fight for justice in his name. ****** business ethics are corrupt and dishonest. Likewise, he lacks a moral compass and has proven to be completely heartless to do such a vile act.
