I had the transmission oil changed on January 2, 2024. After the service, I noticed some issues with my car, particularly with the gearbox, such as gear change slipping. However, because I was very busy with work and did not drive much, I did not have time to take the car to a repair shop. On June 3, after returning from a trip, I started my car and noticed the *** light on the dashboard was flashing. I went to the F3 store in ************, located at *****************, but I could not find the store and was informed that it had closed. Concerned about safety, I went to another repair store in ************ to check the problem. It turned out that the transmission oil was everywhere, and there was no transmission oil left in the gearbox. The oil residue was from the engine all the way back to the spare tire. The mechanic found that the drain plug was loose. As a result, my gearbox was almost empty, and there was transmission fluid all over the car. The mechanic at the second store informed me that this happened because the gearbox cover was not properly secured.Because of this, I had to clean the car and add oil to the transmission box. I am concerned that there may be damage to the gearbox. Although I can still drive the car, I believe there might be some damage due to the lack of transmission fluid.I contacted the F3 auto service store and explained the situation to the worker there. However, the worker said that because there is no warranty for oil change service and another mechanic had touched the car, they would not be responsible for this. The safety of my vehicle was compromised due to the loose drain plug, resulting in a significant loss of transmission fluid. This is a serious matter that could have led to further damage or an accident. I was lucky but if this happen again will bring high risk to other consumers.

      Business response

      07/11/2024

      Good afternoon,

So like I explained to the customer before: the name of this business was CANAA AUTO BODY LLC. It used the *** of F3 Auto Service. We are F3 AUTO SERVICE LLC, not the same company. Looking at our records you will find we have never had a location in ********, ***

In addition, we will not warrant an oil service for 6 months as the customer desires. If we were involved in this service transaction, which we are not, we also would not warranty it.

If the customer realized there was something wrong with the vehicle, she should have taken it to the shop at that time and maybe they would have been able to help her, but waiting six months is not the right move.

Furthermore, if the customer took the vehicle to another shop, the shop who initially did the oil change should not warranty it as they have no proof of any wrongdoing. Once another mechanic touches the car, the initial mechanic has no idea of what might have been done to the vehicle or what was wrong before.

Therefore, in conclusion, we are not involved in this transaction and would like this to be removed from our profile.
