Hello, I started off wanting to create an app for my church. I researched a company called Digital Awesome. Everything looked good on the website so I decided to call. The owner and president of the company is Mark N*****, who is the person that I have been communicating with for the pass year and a half now. The overall plan was to have the company create an app that would be available for downloading on play stores and other devices such as I-tunes etc. I spoke with Mark over the phone and told him what I was looking for. He ensured me that his company was perfect for the job and I was convinced. The budget that was given from myself was $3,000. Based off the first contract everything seemed good. So i signed. The contract explained what the scope of the project was and timeline. Mark also said that in ordered to get approved by Apple, there was a guideline for the company to follow. Once everything was done, Mark submitted the app to Apple. The app was not approved due to guideline 4.2.2, functionality. So Mark addressed to me that in order for the app to be approved, that an amount of $1250 would have to be paid because of the development of the Testimonial Wall, which I came up with for functionality. I did not agree, so I had an Attorney look at the contract, and it was addressed that I shouldn't have to pay because the company did not satisfy me. A letter was sent out to let Mark letting him know that he should not be charging because of this, but Mark stood by what he said. So, I decided to pay the amount with another contract, which explained the scope and that I would not be charged any additional money for development changes. Finally the app was approved. I wanted to make some last minute changes because the app looks thrown together, but now Mark is charging me a little over $2,000 for the changes. Something is not right with this. I want to file a complaint on this matter.

Thanks for bringing your concern to our attention. I understand your situation and would love to work with you to resolve this.

The mobile application was completed to your requirements, and you were happy with the end product. When the app was submitted to Google Play and the Apple AppStore, Google accepted the app, but Apple rejected the app due to guideline 4.2.2. Apple decided the app did not have enough functionality and required additional functionality to approve the app to the AppStore. We discussed possible new features we could add to the app, and you decided to add a new Testimony feature that allowed users of the app to share testimonies. Because of your tight budget, we wanted to help you out. We agreed to develop the feature at the reduced price of $1,250.

We created an additional contract to develop the new testimony feature for the agreed-upon amount of $1,250. We then completed the testimony feature and submitted the updated app to Apple. They approved the app, and it is now in the Apple AppStore.

You then came to us and said you wanted to create a new dashboard screen on the app. The new dashboard you requested was not included in the Testimony feature contract. We are happy to help you add the new dashboard feature to the app, but we must charge you for new features or changes not within the project's agreed-upon scope. We provided you with a quote for the additional feature over the phone.

We are happy to work with you on this matter. Please give us a call or email us to discuss possible options.
