      Hippo couldn't sent a cancellation notice at a more convenient time. I live in ************* and they sent a cancellation due to "Reduction of high hazard relative exposure to catastrophic events." I'm worried that no other companies will pick me up. This is really unfortunate as hurricane season has just started. I've never even filed a claim with them. I don't know what I'm going to do.

      We had to file a claim in December, 2022 for a pipe that broke during a freeze. We have been fighting with them since then to have our claim settled. We provided all documentation as requested. They know how to play the game. They have 45 days to settle unless they request more information. So, they wait until the 44th day and send you an e-mail asking for something that you've already provided. They keep doing that for months at a time - in our case nearly a year. As of July 2024, we still have no resolution. We are out 50+ thousand dollars out of pocket for repairs. Run, don't walk, run the other direction if this company is recommended.

      They cancelled us in attempt to raise our rates and we ended up going with a local company. Twice the coverage for almost 1/2 the price.

      We had part of a claim covered, but when we were trying to get the rest of the claim that was undervalued covered our adjuster began ignoring our phone calls. Then conveniently answered when we called from a different phone number. Today I called the normal phone line and the guy I talked to messaged our conversation TO HER THROUGH HIS COMPUTER WHILE TALKING TO ME! I had a full conversation with our adjuster through this poor guy on the general line because she would not answer my calls! Just incredibly frustrating to deal with and extremely unprofessional, we will be switching insurance companies very soon after this experience

      This is bogus home insurance company. While they include everything in coverage and remove each item from the in exceptions . Not a good company at all STAY AWAY. 2x to 3x expensive than others

      Three years of service paying nearly $20k in total. Put a claim in for our fence after a storm. Looked like a vehicle drove through it from the storm. They would only replace the broken panels. Quoted $1500 to replace SIX panels. They denied the claim for being less than the deductible. Two years later we have water coming in the house after a storm, through the window header underneath of a covered porch. Theyve again denied the claim saying its less than the deductible. Theyre claiming it as a wind deductible, but, I didnt know that wind could force rain through brick! This isnt even a case of cheaper not being better. Likely going to have to file with DOI and AG. Switching agencies when this claim is fully wrapped up. And USAA is beating them out by over a $2500 a year savings for the exact same coverage!! 1000% do NOT recommend.

      They increased my deductible from $1000 to $6000 and billed my mortgage company before notifying me. I was too late to notify my mortgage company that I was not interested in renewing my policy with them. Not only did they increase my deductible, but they also increased my premium. Shouldn't that have decreased? I had them for 3 years and no claims. I should have read reviews but this is my first home and I went with who the title company recommended and I regret it!

      I was a customer for 2 years and when it came to renewing my policy for year 3 I was sent a notice that my CC on file was expired. I don't normally check that regularly so when I received this I went on my account to update with the new expiration. the site told me we are unable to process your request at this time try back later or call us. I attempted to call several times with the number provided and each time got a recording saying we are busy with other customers and to please email support for assistance good bye. I then emailed multiple times with 0 responses. After 2 days of the same, I got a notice that my policy expired. Once that happened I was able to talk to someone. The company refused to reinstate my policy even though it was their fault for their site, and phone/email support was hindering my ability to update my information. They sent me to open a new policy and was told they could not assist me with a new policy because my house was built before 1995.

      Hippo insurance is the worst. I was never notified of cancellation of my policy, and the agent that was handling my policy has been *** for the last few months. Ive had this insurance since 2021, no claims have been filed, no correspondence from the company about cancellation. IF I COULD GIVE THEM A 0 STAR RATING I WOULD.
