** and its ink subscription: charges, blocks, and zero customer careMy experience with the ** ENVY 6550 was a mess: monthly payments for automatic ink with minimal or no deliveries, charges even after cancellation, and cartridges I bought separately were blocked. Worse, if you dont pay, the printer stops printing and cancels your jobs. To me, thats not service; its lock-in and disregard for the user. I do not recommend ** to anyone.

I bought an HP Office Jet Pro 8130e series on 8/9/24. I agreed to the Instant Ink 90-day free trial. I opted for the Care Package extended warranty plan. First complaint is the Instant Ink plan. I renewed it after the 90-day free trial, as it was fine to that point. The monthly cost was $5.98. I got reports on the # of pages printed and the ink I used. That plan is to replace ink after a specified number of pages have been printed. The rate covers the cost of an ink refill. It is automatically sent to you, so you never run out of ink. My problem is that I ran out of ink mid-term and had to buy more from ** and have it delivered to my house. This purchase was not covered or credited to my plan, despite not exceeding the allowed page limit within the set period. Due to this, I closed the subscription, deciding to buy HP ink cartridges as needed. **, however, automatically shut down my printer when I closed the subscription. There was no notice from ** about this. They stopped my ability to print, even after I had purchased ink from them, at a non-discounted price through the mail. I had to restore the subscription for the printer to work. It worked for 2 months, then it stopped again 8/9/25. Since I recently switched internet providers, I thought I had not reconnected the printer correctly. Nope - wrong. After 3 days with T-Mobile, **** and Microsoft Windows technicians, the fault was my printer. ** shut my printer down 8/9/25, one year to the date of purchase. Next, I spent hours on the phone with ** trying to get help. I had the extended warranty.2 separate HP technicians told me 2 different things. First, my warranty had expired, and I had to pay $200 to reinstate it. After that, they sent a different technician, who charged me $399 to fix the problem, which he said was the driver. He said the extended warranty did not cover this. It's suspicious that the driver broke on the date the warranty expired, and the worthless extended warranty is supposed to start.

I spent over an hour on chat support with HP Printer Support today. All they did was send me around in circles with me always ending up where I began--with my printer not working.I spent a lot of money on this printer, and I'd like for it to work. As it is now, it won't. In my opinion, the least ** could do is fix their own printers when something goes wrong. I'm not a computer technician. I'll never buy another HP printer again.

What a **** ** has now. I have had ** Printers since 1985! 7-30-2025 -Printer gave warning low Black ink (30%) I had installed ******* 2025.Looked at my bill and being charged $25.58/ month for *********** but I hadnt received ink now that its needed so I called # on bill *****. The person who answered the call told me I had 1500 pages that had rolled over. I told him I was never able to see that on my computer. We spoke about lowering the pages per month. He said I could get a newer printer and 300 pages for $22.89 per month so I said OK. I have to admit he was hard for me to understand and I did not ask to speak to someone else. He told me the new printer would be here by the 1st of August and my pages would continue to roll over. 8-1-2025 -August 1st the printer came and I set it up, the next day I received an email that said my Ink cartridges were mailed and I should receive them soon BUT they were for the (9015e) printer I replaced with the new one (9129e). I called and the female person said No worries you can dispose of them or return in the pre-paid envelope. ********** called again & then I find out that HP Instant Ink and HP All in One are different. For the last 30 years I have used HP ALL-IN-ONE printers to Print, Scan, Copy and Fax. Ive called ** and am dealing with ** and no one said theres two different services and that couldnt help me with my HP Account! I was switched back and forth for over an hour between persons all saying they could not help me!8-7-2025-I get an email saying my HP Instant Ink has been cancelled as of 8-6-2025 SO I call again today I was on the phone from 8:51 to 9:56AM Eastern time. The end result is a supervisor Will (The 3rd I explained my situation to today) who told me the ONLY thing he could do was file a complaint with ** and someone from Management would be calling me.This is SO wrong, I trusted ** all these years! My calls were recorded.

They scam money out of you, they pulled money from my account that wasn't authorized to be pulled. They dont explain what you are getting into when they make you offers, and then you get pulled into deals you are not realizing you are entering into. Its July and they pulled money from my account supposedly for something back in February. I was never notified they were pulling it. I just seen through my bank it was pulled. And I called and found out it was from something back in February. Be careful if you are deciding to enter into any deals with this company they are crooks, and i just noticed they are not supported by BBB. I guess from now on I'll be checking that out.

I bought a 2700 series printer last year and I always use HP ink cartridges. I don't use my computer or printer often. Yesterday, I tried to print a document and the black ink cartridge will not work at all. I reinstalled the printer and bought a new HP black ink cartridge. I finally went to the help screen and was told that I needed to sign up for one of their ink programs before I could be allowed to print. I bought the printer and I refuse to let this company hold my printer hostage until I enter one of the ink programs. I will never by anything that is ** again!

I have a serious medical condition and on 7/24/2025 my HP printer would not print a very important document. I am over 65 years of age and spent hours trying to get my documents printed. It was concluded that I no longer purchased ink from instant ink and they electronically shut my printer down until they received my new credit card number. I complied with their demands and HP instant ink allowed me to print the documents. This extremely stressful incident caused me to fall ill and have an anxiety attack of which I am still recovering .HP should not be able to shut down my purchased printer in the sanctity of my own home. ** has invaded my privacy by monitoring my printer and holding it hostage until ** paid their ******.

** has developed a scheme to charge over and over again for products you have paid for. They simply delete the system Drivers and offer to download new Drivers for a price. In my case they first wanted almost $700 but after seeing that I was a Veteran and Senior Citizen the dropped it to $400. I have an HP OfficeJet 5252 Printer that is NOT working because we can't download Drivers. My system failed to Scan a while back and they wanted several hundred dollars to download Drivers, but a complaint to the *** brought that to a halt.
