I received notice from PNC that our payment was going up $130 per month. Upon looking at the breakdown provided, they again made another error in the escrow withholding. This is the 3rd time this has happened in 3 years. The first time, they said they had to hold an additional 2 months in escrow. The second time, I was told they miscalculated how much to withhold for escrow. Both of those errors resulted in a difference of $20 - $30 per month. This time, they are claiming the insurance and property taxes increased. Upon doing my own research, I find both of these items did increase, but the increase is not the equivalent of $130 per month, rather about $400 per year. I reached out to PNC and was contacted by email by ***************************, ******** ********* Client Relations on April 17. I attempted to call on April 19, leaving a voice message. On April 22 I received another email saying they are no longer actively reviewing my concern. I responded the same day saying I would call her on the 23. On the 23rd I called, again leaving a message. On the 24th I sent her an email letting her know I had now sent 2 emails and left 2 messages. On the 25th, she responded via email asking if she could call me that day. I responded providing her the times I would be available that day and the following Monday (April 29). It is now May 4, a week later, and she has still never called, never left a message, and has not responded to my email. I have contacted PNC requesting to pay my property taxes/insurance myself, thereby eliminating escrow withholding. One rep told me I could not do that because the loan was originally taken as PMI. A second individual told me it could be done, but there is a significant penalty payment to do so. I asked why the penalty since by me paying those items myself, PNC's job was actually being made easier. I was informed that mortgage companies receive money when they pay the insurance and property taxes. If they stop paying those items, they lose money.
