I registered my child for a one-week summer program with Oakland Strokes Rowing club. I registered on a Saturday, two days before the program start. Before registration, I checked the cancellation policy. It clearly state nonrefundable after starting of the program, it gives me the impression that as far as I cancel the registration before the program start, I can get refund. On Sunday, there is a change of plan, and we cancelled the program. However, we were told that the program can only be cancelled one week before the program start. I contacted the program manager right away, negotiating for reimbursement. I did not get a reply until one week after, when the program was finished. We were not given an opportunity to join the program and use the service. We did not use their service, did not incur any extra cost or effort from the program. I feel it is extremely unfair that we were denied for reimbursement.
