We initially met with Bruce G***** almost a year ago after purchasing a lot up in **** ******** Club. We told him and his wife Brenda that we had a specific budget in mind and after discussion they said that it was doable and they were on board. We took their recommendation on a drafter to get the plans started and that took several months to complete and several thousand dollars. During this time the G******* had soil testing completed on the lot, septic system application, solar application and once the plans were done they were submitted for approval. All of this we made sure to pay for as requested by Brenda. During this time Brenda’s emails with us showed her irritation that we had many questions about invoices and progress of the build. At one point she told us to start filling out the applications ourselves which we did not feel comfortable doing. Her emails became rude and short. There were a lot of red flags that we shouldn’t have overlooked. After almost ten months of working on getting the building permit we finally got approval, and after asking how to get it paid Brenda sent us an email saying that she told us already how to pay in a previous email and that our constant confusion and also tight budget have left her no choice but to cut ties with us. All this without us receiving any formal budget estimate for our cabin to know what it would actually cost for the build. We were completely shocked as we have already received a construction loan and are basically ready to go. The bottom line is that we believe that Brenda never really wanted to do our project and found the opportunity to back out when it came time to pull the trigger. This has been a waste of our time and resources and I feel is incredibly unprofessional. They should have told us much sooner that they are too busy and don’t want to work with us. Bruce Gordon is a very nice man and is capable of doing the job, but Brenda has made this whole experience a complete disappointment.
