I called mygeneratorguy to get some help with my generator. I told them I had a generator enclosed in a structure attached to my house. When they arrived, they told me it wasn't to code. I asked them to leave, and this was on October 25, 2023. I specifically told them that many other contractors turned me away since the generator was enclosed. They said it wasn't an issue, and they wanted to send a person out. They sent me an invoice for ****** for 65 miles driven on March 20th. They are now trying to send me collections of services I did not receive. I've asked the owner, ****, multiple times to give me a call, and he refuses to.Business response

On June 5th, 2024, **** emailed ********** as well as called him regarding this outstanding bill. ********** signed an estimate before the technician was dispatched, and in the estimate there is a clause that says if your generator is not installed to code, the technician will not be able to work on your generator. ********** initialed next to the clause.(please see attachment) There is not way for us to diagnose or ascertain whether a generator is up to code over the phone. ********** was billed only for the time/travel/miles the technician was out inspecting his generator, that was diagnosed with a shattered exhaust manifold due to being in an enclosure, which prevented it from being serviced due to safety concerns. When ********** called about his bill, he said he could not afford to pay his bill due to his financial situation.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: The Business is lying- part of their onboarding process is asking verbally over phone where the generator is located. I told them several times this was an attached generator. I called over 10+ repair shops and they were the only ones to take my call.
After they said my generator was not to code **** the owner suggested I "reinstall" the generator to code and he was trying to basically upsell me on $25,000 worth of services. The technician suggested that I do not install, and look for another person to help me install the exhaust manifold, which I eventually did.The initial assessment was on Oct 25 2023, and they sent me an invoice on March 20, 2024. If this is the way he wants to bully his customers, I am fine, and if I owe this money- that is on him. Making up lies about my finance online is against the law.
