11/01/2023 Purchased a sectional couch for $1735 a Cost Rite Furniture in *********, **.Sectional got delivered same day at 2:50 PM. Two delivery drivers were unsuccessful in getting the couch through the front door for about 15 mins after numerous attempts they continue to struggle. The couch makes it in about half way in and I notice a tear on one of the corners of the couch. I inform the delivery drivers that I can not accept the couch damage as is. I then inform the delivery drivers that they will have to take the couch back to the store and that I will just head on over to the furniture store for my refund. I arrive to the furniture store to seek my refund for 1735$ the person who sold us the couch I believe is the owner or main guy. He refused to give me my full refund for 1735$ and was seeking to charge me $135 for in order to get my refund which would then be $1600 instead of my full refund of $1735. He insisted that that I will not get my full refund amount after me explaining to him that the couch got damage with a tear due to his delivery drivers not successful with the delivery. We continue to go back and fourth and saying he has to charge me $135 return fee. When indeed it was not my fault that the couch got damaged and ripped. I am just seeking my full refund not partial.Customer response

This is not accurate at no moment what so ever I insisted for the drivers to force the sectional couch in to my house. They were not communicating even with each other or seem like they knew what they were doing. I have cameras at my front door recording at all times and also in the living room. The drivers and business owners are lying at this point. I am just honesty asking for the business to be fair and honest.Sincerely,

Any way, according to the store policy; Please read at the bottom of the inv# the customer signature had signed area. It will be 25% restocking charge on all cancelled and or/ returned merchandises, and cancellations on special orders . Exchange is allowed within 3 days for defective merchandises from factory. That was why i was willing to exchange for him the new piece and suggested him to get the smaller couch too. But, he just wants to get the full refund and i told him to read the store policy. He said he just wants to get the full refund only. He said he just want to be fair , so, how about our service ( gas, labor ) is will be free of service? is that fair for us? I was only charged for our service only and the couch need to be fix too! We are just a small business trying to survised with a very tough economic right now. Therefore, please understand our situation too! Thanks!

Anyway during the delivery process like I stated before delivery drivers damaged couch in process of trying to get it into the house. All I am asking is for my full refund. I never canceled my merchandise or returned it because it wasnt satisfied. I simply wanted a full refund because it got damage. Other costumers over herd our conversation in the store and also agreed that the manager ***** was not fair in the situation and if they where me in the same situation asking for a full refund because merchandise got damaged in the process due to the delivery drivers, that they would also would appreciate there full refund. I do not agree with the outcome of this situation. ***** is unfair and unprofessional.
