I have a home warranty insurance plan with American Home Shield (AHS). On around 4/23/24 I called regarding my leaking water heater. AHS assigned me to A1 Phoenix Plumbing (********************. Ste. B, *********, ** ***** - ************). I immediately Googled A1 Phoenix plumbing to see their reviews. I noticed A1 had terrible online reviews. I called AHS back to express my concerns and that I wanted another company assigned for my water heater. AHS denied my request and stated they do not use online reviews as an indicator for service. **** from A1 called me to inform me there were additional fees that I had to pay. $280.00 for a city permit, $130.00 for earthquake strap and $120.00 for a waterline. **** informed me that I would receive a docusign to complete and provide my credit card information. When I received the Docusign, there was a 3.5% processing fee that I was not informed about over the phone by A1 OR AHS. I called AHS to tell them I was charged a processing fee that A1 nor AHS informed me of. AHS said they companies set their own fees. I stated, I should know in advance, so I can pay in cash to avoid the fee (cash option was not provided by A1), or choose another company that does not charge the fee. A1 installed the water heater on April 26th. The installers did not speak English and I was not able to communicate with them. I also informed AHS of this. After the install, the water heater has not been working properly. I do not get hot water to my kitchen sink and the water has to run for 3-5 minutes to get to the maximum temperate which is not as hot or hot enough as my previous water heater. In my bathroom and shower, I also have to run the hot water for 3-5 minutes before it gets hot and I have to turn the k*** in the shower all the way to the left to its maximum turning radius to get hot. I did not have to do that with my previous water heater. I have called AHS and AHS has contacted A1 numerous times for to get the issue resolved but to no avail. A1 then scheduled for the city to come and inspect the water heater without fixing the issue of not getting hot water to off my areas in my home. I informed A1 that my water heater is still not working and they need to reschedule the inspection. They did not. When **** from the city showed up today, May 17th, I informed him that my water heater is not getting hot water to all of my areas. **** stated, he does not check if the unit is working properly, he only checks to see if it was installed correctly. A1 Stated that the city will check if the water heater is not working properly. I informed them what **** told me and to reschedule until they fix the water heater. A1 stated, they have rescheduled the appointment to May 21st and if it is not done I will be charged a no show fee and their fees. I called AHS to inform them of this and learned through their automated system that my request had been closed. I spoke with two representatives they stated A1 will call me. I have not received a call and I am still scheduled to my knowledge for the city inspection on May 21st that I did not agree to and my water heater is still not working properly.
