The client emailed in to schedule a phone call. A response was sent within one business day. The writer did not see the email come in from the client to confirm the appointment and was not aware that he had confirmed. Due to a family emergency, the writer was delayed in calling the customer back by two hours at which point the customer was pretty irate and had no concern for the situation. The customer was contacted the same day and a phone consultation took place. We apologized to the client for the slight delay in returning a call but feel that one business day is a good rule of thumb for getting back to all of our clients. We serve clients throughout ***************** and have a small team of writers that work remotely across the various time zones, which is not uncommon in this industry and not having a specific location listed on the company website is not unusual. Before speaking with the writer, the client called in and was upset that his call went to our answering service, which happens when our receptionist is on another line and/or all of our writers are booked or on a call. The answering service said their representative was threatened because they weren't giving out specific enough facts to the client about our company. The entire situation was completely blown out of proportion over a family emergency that the writer felt didn't need to be explained in great detail to the client. I am sure if the client had the details, they may have been a bit more understanding. Sometimes things happen that are out of our control and we do our best to mitigate those situations to ensure our clients have the best possible experience. In this case, the client allowed the writer to go through their entire consultation only to hang up and immediately reach for the negative review button claiming that no one called or emailed back, which was not the case. We would have gladly offered to provide the client with a complimentary letter or bio but the client was standoff-ish from the very beginning of the call and did not want to give us a chance to resolve the issue to both parties' satisfaction. We are sorry ************************ felt we were not a good fit and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
