Around may 29 bought a car from gamboa motors put down 9000 cash ************ with a 30 dealership warranty. Around June 29 driving my car error light comes on saying engine fault service now car ceases to move. Call dealership and they inform my husband we need to pay 1250 (our half) to get transmission rebuilt. They keep car for two weeks with no compensation to me ie no rental no discount etc. I get my car back and notice it is running a little high but doubting myself because it never really ran correctly since I had it. Now fast forward to November 29th driving home on freeway car error comes on again engine fault service now go to pull over to the shower everyone is honking at me all lights are lighting up on dashboard I manage to pull over to find out my engine is on fire call 911. ***** fire department closes lanes on the freeway and puts fire out. **** calls tow truck. Fire department states that was an engine fire. Towed truck home. Call dealership to explain all this and they basically don't want anything to do with this. Next day texted a request for an itemized statement for the work done on car and to date have not had any response. Now left with no car that still has a warranty on the transmission but is now completely worthless. I need help.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2022/12/19) */ December 19 2022 , I'm responding to this complaint, this is the day I received the letter. I would like to clarify the situation, customer only gave 7,000 down not 9,000. Customer had a balance of 2,300 left and had told us they would pay us with in 3 months, we as nice people told them they can pay us in payments and go from there. we gave them Limited warranty of 30 days transmission and engine only The dealer will pay 50% of the labor and 50% of the parts for the covered systems that fail during the warranty period only. We sold vehicle on 05/20/2022 . We received a call after warranty was done (30 days) stating that the car was jerking and we as nice people told them to bring it in so the mechanic can take a look at it, but we did tell them that it was past the warranty, mechanic over looked at it and said it was transmission, we called customer and told them that the best we can do is help them with half of cost which we didn't have to because it was past the warranty of 30 days. We returned the vehicle back to customer July 8, 2022. Customer started to pay slow on the balance they owed us and never told us they had another issue again. Customer did stated that the fire department stated that it was an engine fire. Which we don't have any control of, its just like mother nature we cant control everything its out of our hands. Warranty of which customer is stating is on transmission not engine. Also customer should of had Full Coverage insurance for this same reason, mother nature happens and that's what insurance is for. with that been said we don't see how we are responsible for this matter. If anything we been very helpful to the customers and they have a balance that they still owe us which is $775.00 for car and $200.00 for transmission that was fix. We also need help if that's the case. Thank you
