I purchased a ryland home brand new in 2005 of December. About six months after living in the house water from the upstairs bathtub started coming through the light fixture downstairs. I complained about it and Rylan sent over some contractors I guess and they did some soldering of the bathtub because there were some weak spots in the tub. But they did not resolve the issue. I just stopped using the bathtub and started using my shower only. I am a single lady and I have to work full-time so I did not have time to deal with the bathtub if there were any more issues so I just assumed to just stop using it because I did have another shower in my bedroom. Lately as I’m getting older I need to soak my body in the tub so I started using the tub and I’m hearing the same noise that I heard at the beginning of buying this house that there was some defects in that tub that never got resolved and I really and strongly believe that Ryland homes are responsible for their shotty work and they should fix the bathtub. Homebuying was a first time experience for me and I didn’t really have the language to to know what to ask for but I really should have demanded that they completely change out the tub and the plumbing the minute it water started coming through the light fixture that is very dangerous and I’ve been afraid to use the tub for 15 years . They should have replaced the bathtub and whatever plumbing issues that is associated with that tub. I even have paperwork showing that I complained when I first moved here and how they came out and cut a hole and did soldered some weak spots a weak spot that they figured was the problem but apparently that wasn’t just the problem. Since I stop using the tub I just assumed I just wouldn’t use it . I think it’s really a shame to purchase a home brand new and have these kind of major issues unresolved issues like this. Could you please advise or help me in someway . thank you
