04/04/2022 I came into A-1 Smog & repair center to have a Smog check done. After failing the Smog I was told there was an issue with the fuel pump. After I told them I didn't want the service done, I got into my car and it wouldn't start. I asked for help to start me car. They checked and said it was the fuel pump. I didn't have money and they said they could run a diagnostic. After the diagnostic we agreed that they would only change the fuel pump. The price day one was $480. The next day 04/05 I call to ask the process of my vehicle, I was told the main mechanic(Gabe) would call me back. I call while on a work break a couple hours later. Again they told me he would call. I end up calling again and again told he would call. My last call, Gabe was available. I walk to the Smog place because I have no car or money to get there. I get there 5 minutes before closing. Gabe gave me the total and it had jumped up to $524.82 after they had done more work, that wasn't authorized, on the car. I told them I didn't authorize it and they shouldn't have done it. I also told then I had called four times prior and they had the opportunity to let me know and chose not to. Without my authorization they changed my air intake hose, fuel strainer/filter, and my main relay. I was taken advantage of. I called my dad(previous mechanic) and told them what they did and read the recept, he said that none of those had anything to do with my Smog. The mechanic I bought the car from said that they car was working fine and when I drove it previously, it was fine. After I drove my car from the Smog place it started to not turn on. I would have issues turning it on at times after I had A-1 smog work on it. 04/08 my car was not turning on, I was going to head to A-smog to have them fix the issue. When a neighbor heard my car he said it sounded like an issue with the fuel pump. When my car did turn on it didn't let me go more than 20 mph. It was reving but not going. I brought it back 04/11.

When the Customer originally came in, it was for a Smog Inspection.

Customer could not get the car started after it failed the Smog.
The Customer asked for a jump start, stating 'This happened to her earlier in the day'
She left her car for a Diagnosis

After a Diagnostic concluded that the *** from the Fuel Pump was lower than spec for the vehicle, and the main Fuel Pump Relay was tested, we found the Fuel Pump was bad.
The Customer was notified, and she approved the cost of the Fuel Pump.
After replacement of the Fuel Pump, the Vehicle started and ran.
After a few test drives we found an intermittent issue with Fuel, retested the Fuel Pump, and it showed above good pressure.
      Retested Relay and it failed.
Called and left a message for the Customer about the bad Relay, and had no return phone call.
I ordered a new Relay anyways to test it, and everything worked as it should.

A few days later the Customer called and said that the vehicle was doing the same thing and she had a Video.
Customer sent me the Video and Vehicle was running but wouldn't drive, or would just rev up, understanding everything was running and that we fixed the Fuel issue, but now the Vehicle appeared to be having a Transmission issue.

Customer purchased Vehicle just a few weeks prior, from a Mechanic Friend, so the Vehicle was still new to her.
I suggested that she call her Friend to ask about the Transmission, if it had ever been Serviced, and have had no response since.

We do offer a warranty on any of our Repair work and parts.
