      I have been with Redding Utilities for over a year establishing service in March of 2022 , .the day I set up services they conducted a credit check which I have been with utility companies in ********** for more than a decade none consulting credit checks , I had good credit but somehow they came up with a ballpark figure of a deposit equivalent to my car payment and insurance combined if $562.00 I had to pay them before they can activate service , when I paid that amount they stated I will be getting my refund back in a year if havi g good payment history, only if I do not incurrd late fees, well i made sure that i had them set my billing period for the 1st of every month so there would be no issues,low and behold they send me a bill before the first of the following month , then charge a late fee to try to keep my deposit. I called them back , and had them change my billing period back to the first, which they tried denying my bills being set for the first of every month. I paid my bills on time every month for a whe year , it wasn't until it was time for them to issue me my refund of $562.00 back before the first refund where they began to s**** with my bill making unwarranted, and unnecessary adjustments to my account to prevent me from receiving my refund, then they began to slam over 5 to 6 different erroneous late fees , billing me twice in one month after I paid my account off, they reversed credits and charged me twice in one month totaling $480.00, the sent me shut off notices, telling me I was not getting my remaining credit , because of the late fees , due to me not paying my bills on the 30th of evey month , I obtained copies of all of my bills which were all set to the first of every month . So that is false , in turn I had to get heap to help keep them from shutting my utilities off heap paid them two installments of totaling $518.00, and another totaling $352.00 , I overpaid my own money $362.00 I asked them to refund, but they are refusing.

      I am rejecting this response because: this business has a reputation with overcharging , and keeping customers money that does not belong to them, no further action is needed I have filed fraud claims with my bank , and have given them all necessary documentation of credits totaling up to $649.43, in overcharges this company has made, and receipt of deposit that was to be returned to me amounting to $564.00 this company has  kept for themselves , and additional money they posted ACH transactions for even after receiving payments. Double charging me twice for two to three months.  My bank has all necessary documents . I will be getting my full refund, wether they agree to it or not .  Have a great day.

      I have been an REU customer for over 20 years. I have excellent credit and have a good payment history up until an incident last year. I made a mistake and did not see my bill gradually accruing more than my monthly payment. My power was shutoff and hundreds of dollars in fees were charged and sequestered by REU. Although I was notified on a bill, there was no phone call to inform me the power was going to be shut off. My auto bill pay has been set at $100 per month prior to and since this incident. I received a 15 day notice this month because my bill was 50 dollars over the $100 I auto paid, so I simply called REU to pay and resolve the matter. Keep in mind It is less than a month away from the year of good payment history REU said they would have to hold my $211 dollars. *** refused to acknowledge both that this was simple human error and that Ive been paying every month. *** also refused to acknowledge and take into consideration my calling to take responsibility and resolve the issue and pay my bill in full. Instead they said that because it hasnt been a year and I received the 15 day notice, REU is keeping my $211 for an additional year. I feel that this is unreasonable, frankly cold, and reflective of poor customer service to an overall responsible paying customer.
