I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUSINESS FOR ANY CHILDREN ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM. This business DISCRIMINATES. After 3 separate visits, my son was discriminated against by the owner Ashley and one of the barbers, Scotty. My son is two years old and has a giant fear of getting his hair cut, he cant stand the feeling of hair touching his skin, seeing it fall from being cut, nor the feeling of the buzzer. Scotty worked with him to schedule two appointments for one hair cut. Kevin could not sit still and never was able to sit in the chair. The third hair cut he received from Scotty, Ashley let me schedule the appointment and Scotty made it clear that we would be charged for both hair cuts. That is not a problem. The way his tone was when he said it was not warm or genuine. We had always paid the amount due. The bigger issue came When Ashley (the owner) allowed us to Schedule an appointment but didn’t say anything to us. We arrived for his fourth appointment and scotty asked me to step outside so he could talk to me. He told me that if my son couldn’t sit still in the chair the haircut would be over because its u professional (noone was ever there when our Son got his hair cut), he proceeded to tell me that Its the parents job to override their kids and tell them what to do. I said I agree that as a parent we are to guide our children. However, at this age of development, his brain does not have the capacity to self control when he is in fear. He said we can go try but if he cant stay in the seat or on your lap the haircut is over. I told him thank you and that I will respect their new rules but i am not going to sit down for a hair cut knowing he will not stay seated and then I will be charged for another incomplete haircut. I mentioned that Scotty has had enough experience with him to know that he cant sit still out of fear. My Husband complained about his haircuts by Scotty and found a new place to go. Due to needing consistency for our son we continued but NEVER again.
