      I had a membership with Club Pilates *************. I needed to place my membership on hold for medical reasons. The contract states you need to give 2 weeks notice so I notified CP on 4/8 when my doctor informed me I need to stop exercising on 4/15. The freeze officially began on 4/21 but CP had mistakenly put a hold my account earlier than that which I discovered when trying to book a class on 4/13. I was charged my monthly membership fee on 4/13 and inquired about a refund for the days of the billing cycle that my membership would be frozen. After some back and forth, CP then responded with "There are no refunds available to you. Your membership has been cancelled and you are free to book classes for the remainder of your 30 days from the 4/13 payment under membership ends on 5/13." "Your recurring membership agreement has been cancelled, but you are welcome to book through 5/13 to received your paid value". As noted, I am not able to use their services and feel that because my agreement was placed on a freeze as stated in my contract and that they have decided to terminate my contract without fulfilling the agreement freeze that I should be entitled to a refund. They do not have a phone number or anyone one site to talk to customers who can look into your account. They have a history of overcharging me which was resolved with a previous manger who has since left but shows the consistency of poor business practices.

      I under stand that there is a cancel fee. BUT i should not have been charged $269 to cancel a service that I have not used since October. This is absolutely ***************** I am also having a financial hardship.

      Fraudlent business practices. They do not staff their facility with someone who can solve problems, cancel memberships, or even give correct information. Instructors are filling in. When you call them, no one returns your call. When you email, they take weeks to return email. Refused to cancel what was clearly a 3 month unlimited membership and then state I have to pay more to even process a cancellation and my charges will accrue indefinitely - ie they won't accept a cancellation unless membership is paid up then they want a cancellation notice period. I am sure it is all in the fine print somewhere but it is not what is being verbally told to you when you go into the facility. Then, they do not deliver on their promise of unlimited class. options - as they are always full with a minimal class schedule. They also advertise a certain instructor then swamp them out at will at hte last minute leaving you to take a class with someone you didn't sing up for. They waitlist you and the take you off the wait list in the middle of the night and if you forget to check you will be charged for the class ( i.e there is no confirmation process that you even want the class now after being on a wait list for weeks). The entire set of business practices around this business is a disgrace - I suppose this is why they are rated a D with the BBB and have so many poor reviews. ********** law is clear about being able to cancel and how to handle this in event of an injury. I would blame my back pain on their poorly trained instructors but it would be hard to prove depsite Pilates being the only activity I did during this time period. Now, I can endure expensive chiropractic care as they can;t keep well trained and experienced instructors in their classes.

      Business had unauthorized recurring monthly billing on me. I did not receive response from corporate. I filed a dispute with my credit card and now the business is holding a month of payment as hostage against the bank charge it incurred. I asked for my $159 refund, but the business stated that it will hold my $159 due to the $100 charge it incurred. And if I try to dispute against the bank again, it will put a collection on me. All these charges were unauthorized and an error on the business.
