My issue with Miles is the way they do business. The are a data mining company, collecting information on driving habits and locations. They offer prizes, mostly Amazon gift cards, that consumers can buy with the miles (info) they have earned. The cards are valued at 25 cents through one dollar, and take hundreds of miles to earn. Buying a gift card can be very difficult, as they are usually out of stock. Finding one available is hit or miss. I contacted them once, and they said they run out of cards at times. I believe whats really happening is that they are greatly limiting prizes, causing consumers to retain thousands of miles they may never be able to redeem. Just recently, the company started offering a subscription called Miles+. Basically, you pay them a monthly fee so you have easier, quicker access to your free gift cards,

I uninstalled their app a LONG time ago and they are still sending emails. All of their emails have Zero ways in which to unsubscribed from them which I thought was 'illegal'. I **** every one as spam and because Outlook does not seem to have a way to permanently block someone. I keep getting these emails. I want the emails to stop. I have enough to do than to deal with unwanted c***

      Hi *****,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. It's unfortunate you weren't able to unsubscribe to the emails. We do provide an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email. However, we suspect you may not be seeing it because of some Outlook settings that might be truncating it.

We've made a note of your request and will manually unsubscribe you from all marketing emails going forward. Please allow up to 3 days for it to take effect.

For any other such requests, please feel free to reach out to ************************************* and we'd be happy to take care of it. Once again, appreciate your patience here.

Miles App ran a promotion offering a $100 Amazon gift card for referring 4 friends. I completed all requirements, as did my referrals, within 48 hours. They were required to take at least 3 trips in 48 hours, and I manually went into their apps to be sure all trips were taken and tracked. I never received the gift card, and after 3 weeks of back and forth emails with the company, most of which went unanswered, I determined this promotion to be fraudulent. At first I was told only 2 referrals qualified, then they switched it to 3, and gave this as an excuse for not issuing my earned gift card. I provided screenshots from each friend's device proving the trips were taken and that each referral did indeed qualify, however I never got a response and every response given was that someone did not qualify, even after providing all necessary proof. After looking into it, it seems this has been the case with SEVERAL clients, and this app seems fraudulent and offers promotions solely to gain more clients without no intent to pay the promised promotional funds. There is also no phone number to contact and the support emails are very difficult to communicate with or receive correspondence from.

      Hi ******,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your referral program question. Please know we do take several measures to ensure our app members receive the right referral bonus. Thousands of members are awarded referral bonuses every week.

We looked into your case again and we can confirm that we didn't see 4 valid sign *** meet all the trip requirements within the specified time frame. As a result, we did award you the referral reward for each valid referral but unfortunately you didn't qualify for the bonus. The referral in question here had only 2 valid trips within the time frame. Our support team did respond to your tickets with a detailed explanation but if you didn't receive them, we suggest you also check the spam folder incase it landed there.

We can understand it can be frustrating at times to miss out on a bonus by small margins but we do have referrals programs running all the time. Perhaps the next time will be different. Let us know if you have any other questions.

      Best,

      Miles Team

      Complaint: 17699939

I am rejecting this response because:

I provided exact screenshots from each qualifying account referred that did in fact prove that each account had more than the 3 necessary trips to meet the referral qualifications. The screenshots in question provided the dates each trip was taken, and shows that these trips were all taken within the 48 hour time frame. If screenshots from each account does not prove that I did qualify for this bonus, then the company itself is knowingly withholding the bonus as several other members have made this exact same complaint. I am not the only one who has pointed this out so it is recurring behavior from this company to not follow through with bonus reward offers. Sincerely,

The Miles app had a promo from March 8 to 10, 2022 where you refer 5 friends to the app using your code and are new users and receive a $50 Amazon gift card. I referred 5 friends and all of them used my code as well as new users however, Miles refuses to give me credit for 2 of the referrals saying they used different log ins. I keep asking them what they mean by different log ins with proof but they keep closing my ticket.

      Hi Alyssa,

Thank you for reaching out and appreciate your patience in this matter.

We hope you understand the checks our system has to make in order to determine referral rewards for our users. In certain cases, it may take a bit longer than usual.

We wanted to note here as well that the gift card was awarded to your Miles account and has been acknowledged by you in your email with our support team. Hope you enjoy it.

Let us know if there is anything else we can help with.

This app/company was offering an offer of $225 Amazon gift card to qualifying members who met the following criteria within the 2/16 - 2/19 campaign period: (1)Referred at least 5 new users (2)Referrals created an account via a referral code (3)Referrals completed their 5 trips of at least 3 mile(s) within the campaign period (4) Referrals must be new Miles users. I've successfully referred 8 of my friends, 7 of them got recorded to their app system. And among those seven, 5 of them completed the required trips and met all requirements. After one week, Miles only validated 3 out of 5. I've contacted them several times regarding the reason for missing two referrals and provided my proof (screenshots of required trips). The only reply they provided is "referrals did not did not qualify for the following reason(s) I. Did not complete their 5 valid trips of at least 3 miles within the campaign period II. Were not verified as new users (i.e. previously signed up for Miles using a different login)". Since I have provided all pictures showing the required trips, I don't understand why they can not provide the exact reason. Ive spent so much time pursuing them to join and complete these trips with me. I dont feel great about this outcome.

      Hello,

Thank you for reaching out with your query. We are sorry to hear about your experience. We can understand at times it can be a bit frustrating to not have the referrals come through in time. Rest assured we are taking all possibilities into account before making a decision.

Upon your request, we reinvestigated the referrals and can confirm that of all the referrals made during the campaign dates only 3 met all the conditions of a valid referral. There were 3 referrals that didn't meet the trip criteria of the referral campaign with one of them not even registering a trip during the dates. Additionally, one referral was flagged for suspicious email account.

Again, we are sorry if this may have cause you and inconvenience and hope that you do enjoy the gift card you did receive for the valid referrals.

      Best,

      Miles Team

      Complaint: 16920899

I am rejecting this response because:

I've attached a list of all referrals here. According to the info they provide, referrals Leleco Y was the one has no trips (their app doesn't count any trips for him and I knew this from beginning).

I also know Jun didn't meet the trips requirement.

Among the rest two, Jincheng clearly finished five trips as the attachment I uploaded in the original post. I've upload here again as separate screenshots again:three trips of 9.7miles, 3.0miles, 8.1 miles on Feb 18th and four trips of 7.9 miles, 3.8 miles, 7.9 miles, 4.2 miles on Feb 19th. Totally seven trips over 3 miles. I don't know why this one is counted as not valid.

The final referral Zion W. registered the app using Apple's Hide my email function to cover his privacy. This is a recommended feature from Apple. It will automatically generate a random email address for him and that's probably how it got flagged. I've also attached his trips here again. Three trips of 8 miles, 3miles, 6.2 miles on Feb 18th and three trips of 7.6 miles, 4.4 miles, 5.4 miles of Feb 19th. Six trips in total.

Based on all these documents I provided, I still feel that I should get the bonus for five valid referrals instead of only three. Looking forward to your further help.

      Sincerely, *******************

      Hi Jabria,

Thank you for reaching out. We'd be happy to help with your query.

While our system did flag the referral activity not meeting the requirements, given your history with Miles, we did add $50 worth of gift cards to your account on April 1, 2022 but they went unclaimed for two weeks which is typically the claim period for referral campaign rewards.

Please do let us know if you have any follow up questions.

I referred 5 friends for their referral period to get a $250 gift card if they all did their 5 trips of 2 miles or more. They then said 1 referral was invalid. Ive emailed them and they have a generic response saying they were invalid. I sent them proof and they wont give me my money for the referrals. Terrible app and false advertising when they dont pay up.

      Hi *******,

      Thank you for reaching out.

We did further investigate this issue upon your request. It is true that the system did flag one of the referrals as invalid because of which you didn't receive the full amount of the referral bonus. We completely understand your frustration and given you are a valued Miles user, we are making a one time exception here and awarding you the full referral bonus. You should have received the balance of the reward in the app. Hope you enjoy it.

miles app had a promotion between 11/23-11/26, offered $225 gift card+ 100k miles in the app for referring 5 friends. I referred 5 friends and they all did the 5 2-miles requirement. When it comes to the payout, they said 2 of the 5 referrals were invalid. And I didn't get any gift card. Emailed them on 12/4 and I send them proof of validation later. No one ever replied the email. Such a bad experience.

      Hello,

Wed be happy to help you with your inquiry. We did investigate the referrals that joined the app and the trips each of them took to qualify. During this verification process, we found that not all the referrals were not valid due to trips condition not being met. Two of the five referrals didnt complete the requirement of 5 valid trips of 2 miles within the campaign period.
Unfortunately, we won't be able to offer you the $225 gift card since the terms of the referral campaign weren't met. We do believe you were offered a gift card for the 3 valid referrals you were able to make. We sincerely hope you enjoy that gift card.

      Thank you for understanding.

Miles app Oct26-oct29 referral campaign, Require invited five people and completed five 2miles+ trips get $150 gift card. And I have invited five my famliys and friends completed five 2miles+trips. They didn't reward me. They just want our personal information and our positioning. They use this invitation and reward method to ask for our personal information, and then even if we fulfill their requirements, they will not give the reward.I hope they fulfill their promises. I have fulfilled their requirements. They should reward me instead of just trying to deceive our personal information.

      Hello,

We want to reassure you that your personal information is not being shared with any third party and is primarily used to provide the services in the app like automatically detecting your trips and awarding you the miles for them.

Regarding your referral reward, we did do a thorough investigation of the referrals that joined the app and the trips each of them took to qualify. During this verification process, we found that all 5 of the referrals were not valid due to trips being classified as fraudulent. Trip fraud, for e.g., can occur if the referrer uses referrals devices, all of which exhibit the same trip pattern precisely to meet the requirements. For more details, please see bullet No. 5 of our Terms of Service here - https://www.getmiles.com/tos.

Unfortunately, we won't be able to reward you the gift card since the terms of the referral campaign weren't met.
