I am writing to express my concerns regarding my recent leasing experience with *******************************************, which is managed by Lewis Apartments Corporation.We signed a lease agreement with move in date of June 7, 2024 for monthly rental total of $3399 However, we received an unfortunate call from the office informing us that the unit we were scheduled to move into would no longer be available on the agreed-upon date. The most disconcerting aspect was being told that they could not provide a new move-in date for the original unit stating it was unknown when the original tenant would leave . They offered us an identical unit at $54 higher monthly rental rate than what we had signed the rental agreement for. When we requested that the second unit be offered at the original rental rate, we were told that corporate denied this request.Given the uncertainty and the lack of accommodation, we were left with no choice but to find alternative housing. Consequently, we requested the return of our security deposit, as the terms of our original lease agreement were not honored. Unfortunately, our request was denied, which we found to be unjust being that they no longer were honoring the terms of the signed contract thus breaching the contract. In addition, the contract states should the unit not be available at the date of the contract they will reimburse the security deposit within five days of written demand which we emailed them beyond five days ago. We are hoping n to get assistance on recovering our $600 security deposit back and ensuring this doesnt happen to future tenant applicants .Business response

On May 15, 2024, residents were informed that the move-in date would be pushed out until the first week in July from early June. A specific date was not available for that first week in July. Residents stated that they would be fine waiting it out.
On or about May 22, 2024, residents changed their mind and communicated this to our staff.
The holding deposit was refunded on or about May 29, 2024. The residents should have their refund at this time.
