On Saturday September 24,2022 my husband and I went in for 4 brand new tires put on brand new rims that I just recently purchased. I had paid for installation balancing and alignment. They have 2 locations and where I was told to go they did not do alignment. I went to the other location and the one that does alignment wasn't there. So we headed home. Once we hit the freeway we noticed it shaking once we were driving over 65mph. Than once we were back home even driving up to 50mph it was shaking. I contacted them to informed them about the issue and how it may be the balancing that is off. They said that there techs told him that they balanced the tires correctly. They wanted to recharge me for redoing there job. I informed them it is a safety issue and they still refused to recheck there jobs because they said they don't give out free labor. I went to one of my local tire shop and had them double check the balancing. Both tires they checked were way off. One tire was off by .25 on the outside and the second one wheel weights were placed on outside when they were supposed to be placed on the inside. Upon calling them back and letting them know they still refused to make it right even after I repeatedly inform them that it is a SAFETY issue and can cause damages to the car or worse can cause an accident as vibration can cause how one handles the wheel while trying to stop.Business response

We feel for the customer in this situation. First off the alignment has nothing to do with the rest of this. They were properly reimbursed for that on the day of the purchase. The customer called in asking for a re balance on the wheels because the car is shaking. Customer was told to bring car in however if the balance is correct on all four wheels we would have to charge them for the balance which was 15 dollars per tire, but if it was off customer would not have to pay anything. Customer got upset stating " I know how the law works " etc. Customer was asked if they wanted to bring the car in again for the balance to which they refused. Customer now says they had the tires checked and said two tires were off. The first tire was off by .25 ounces which will not cause any vibration, They say that on the second tire the weights were on the wrong side of the wheel which again will not cause any vibration. What can cause vibration is the brakes or rotors being bad maybe a dented rim. Customer was advised to change the brakes at the time of the purchase because the brakes were low on life. soon. We offered them to bring the car back so we can check the tires and everything else on it. They refused to bring it back. We are sorry we could not be of assistance to these people.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:When all areas of the wheel-tire unit are as equal in weight as possible, the tire will roll smoothly. This helps it wear evenly, for longest life. Balancing also contributes to ride comfort: Imbalanced tires will wobble or hop up and down, which causes vibration. If a front tire isn’t properly balanced you’ll likely feel vibration in the steering wheel. If the problem is in the rear the tremor will be noticeable in the seat or floor.Everyday wear on tires will contribute to imbalance. Normal manufacturing imperfections are also a cause: Tires and wheels don’t have precisely equal weight distribution. They’ll be slightly heavier in some spots.Just half an ounce in weight difference is enough to cause a vibration when you’re driving. Not only did the new shop informed us of what a mis balancing may cause but attached is from a well known tire shop Les schwab stating that mis balancing will cause vehicle yo vibrate or shake. My rotors are not bad. My brakes still has some life to it. Rims were not bend, dented, or damaged and vehicle did not vibrate prior to taking it there. Unfortunately this shops owner does not know well enough about his career to make a false statement about mis balancing can not make a vehicle vibrate which makes me think he should not be working on tires which is one of the most important thing on a vehicle. If the shop owner does not even care or is well known of the safety issue this may cause. Any well experienced tire shop, mechanics or person can informed you that even the slightest mis balancing WILL DEFINITELY cause vibration
