This letter is in regards to ****** *******’s complaint to the Better Business Bureau about Montes Re-Upholstery. ****** ordered foam from us for his seat cushions. When he and I were discussing the contract he then asked if we could do him the favor of allowing him to bring the cushions and fill them for him, changing our services from cutting foam for him to adding the service of replacing the foam inside the cushions for him. We agreed, when we were able to measure them ourselves after he brought them in, the original measurements he had given us were incorrect. If we would not have accepted his request to bring them, he would have ended up with the incorrect measurements for his products, and he would have been dissatisfied with our work. My employees did the work for him per his request. When he came to collect his items he seemed agitated, but did pay the agreed amount for the services. He was asked to please take his old foam or pay the disposal fee he then became upset with me and began to express his frustrations on my employees. He did pay the disposal fee but was very frustrated. He started using foul language and name calling, shouting at them. He was very demanding of them to place his items in his vehicle for him. He then proceeded to reenter my shop and continued to aggressively shout at my employees. At one point in attempt for him to leave one of my employees attempted to hand him back his money which he refused to take back. He then continued shouting as he left the shop and shouted as he drove away. After leaving the shop he began to harass me through the phone. He made multiple phone calls to me to call me names and to use foul language and make threats to my business and our reputation by reporting to the BBB, he said he would be leaving as many bad reviews as he possibly could, as well as attempting to gather his acquaintances to lower our review ratings and to have them not support my small business.
The actions of this man do not only affect me but they affect my staff. I have been doing upholstery and been in business for 17 years this is the first time I have ever had an experience like this. All my reviews on Yelp, Home Advisor, Facebook etc. you can see we have many great experiences with our customers. My business has many important contracts with companies such as Yaamava’ casino, Loma Linda Hospital, PF Chang, McDonalds, Taco Bell to name a few. I have offered my services to these companies for many years and they have been very satisfied with our services. This small incident is damaging my reputation and that of my employees. Please we ask if you could kindly help us resolve this situation, this individual is making it unnecessarily complicated for our business.
