I rented a flatbed truck for a 1 day rental. The day it was due back I called and asked if I could pay to keep it another day. I was told no I couldnt because it was reserved for later that day and to get the truck back by 4pm. As 4pm approached my phone had died and I was still a hour away from returning truck. I stopped at target in ****** to buy a charger. When i left target and returned to the truck I got in and started driving away. I was immediately pulled over and out of nowhere had a police officer hiding behind his door and pointing a gun at me and screaming at me to show my hands out the window which I did at first request. He kept screaming the same order to me which I kept replying that my hands were out the window. At that moment I feared for my life. Next thing I know there were now 7 officers all pointing guns at me screaming conflicting messages. When I asked what this was all about they said the truck had been reported stolen to which I replied there is no way seeing how Im just a couple hours late returning vehicle. They werent having any of. I followed all instructions and exited truck with hands up and walked backwards while 7 men pointed guns at me. I reiterated my side of things and I was cuffed put in the back of a squad car and read my rights. 40 minutes later I was taken out of squad car. ********* came off and I was apologized to for this misunderstanding. My issue is this. Cresco put my life in danger and had me legitimately fearing for my life and scared to death because I was a couple hours late returning a vehicle. The manager told me he intentionally tried to report it stolen and he knew exactly what would happen to me if I was pulled over driving the truck. But yet he did it anyway. They havent heard the last of me. A lawsuit is coming and I just pray he doesnt do this to another undeserving customer because who knows what might happen. Hopefully nobody pays for their life because of a negligible manager and his bad waysBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because:in your letter you fail to acknowledge the reason for my original complaint. I am glad you chose to respond because now youre on record lying. Let me give you some facts. Lie number 1) I was not and have never been to **************. If what youre even saying is true then you should know that whatever happened in ************** was not me. You will not see me on video in ************** and as a matter of fact I can prove I was nowhere near ************** that whole timeframe I rented truck. Lie #2) I never once threatened your store manager. Dont you record the calls? That will prove it didnt happen. Lie #3 Your store manager called to report the truck stolen. It had nothing to do with anything else. *** already requested and received all documents and recordings from Chp and Novato pd. Never was any supposed issue in ************** even brought up. Just as during the whole ordeal that day never once did anyone mention Santa **** or any crime. Dont you think that would have been brought up? Especially since they had no way to justify what had just happened to me? Lie #4 I called the Chp just before arriving to drop off your truck and left it exactly where and how they told me to leave it. Theres more lies but Ill save that for the lawsuit. The truth of this is that your guy seriously messed up by calling that truck in as stolen and put my life in jeopardy. This is all easily proven by police records. Your trying to justify his behavior by trying to accuse me of committing a crime in some city I was nowhere near is appalling and ridiculous. And please for the record what is your companys policy for equipment or vehicles that are returned late? We would all like to know. If you would like to discuss further please call me at **********.
