Furnace went out at home ***** ********* Dr Lake Arrowhead, CA Wicks Heating wet out and "fixed" the issue by replacing a 'gas valve.' Charge was $596.71 invoice 24799.' This was paid promptly. $178.50 was for service call and $388.21 for "part and materials are extra" and $30 for a gas valve. Inspection after noted furnace still not working. They went back out and now say heat exchanger is leaking, I need a "whole new furnace" for about $5000. I had another company out and they found the "leak" was a clogged drain pipe and was easily remedied and the heat exchanger was fine. They replaced a circuit board and it works fine now. More to the point new service man will testify that the gas valve was NEVER changed and is old. I called Mike from Wicks and told him I will pay for service call but should not have to pay for parts that were never placed and for a shoddy assessment, a refund of $418.71. He said " I agree" No check sent and not heard from him in more than one month.

I sent the following letter (see attached) to this business after I received a bill for the air filter they gave me when they came to my home. I also returned the air filter in person to their front office. Today (12-17-22) I received a bill in the mail for $119. There has been no acknowledgement of my letter nor has there been a response to a phone message I left months ago after receiving another bill.

I rent a house with a heater installed by Wicks years ago. My landlord called Wicks for them to come out & service the heater due to recent high gas bills. She gave the owner, ****, my cell # to schedule an appointment. A few days later, I found a business card left on my front door. I called to find out why the card was left on my door and that’s when I was told I wasn’t home when I was supposed to be. According to the owner ****, he had an appointment and I wasn’t there. I was never told about any appointment so I called my landlord (***** *********). She responded via text & informed me no appointment was scheduled but that she’d given my number. I called Wicks again to schedule an appointment & left a voicemail. **** called me back the next day & said he needed to come right then because he was “down the street”. When I told him he couldn’t come because I was walking out the door, **** got confrontational on the phone. He said it would only take a few minutes and was clearly irritated when I wouldn’t relent. He was rude, arguing that I should let him come right then, and he’d have to call me back to reschedule. 3 days later, **** called me back & we scheduled an appointment for a two weeks out (the soonest they had). On the day of the appointment two men came out & worked on my heater. They informed me the job was bigger than they anticipated & they could do a temp fix but ultimately all ducting needed to be replaced asap which they stated would be this summer. I informed my landlord of all they said which bothered her since she hadn’t received any sort of invoice or call. The next day, 1/7/21, my landlord informed me **** had lied to her stating he came to my home 7 times and I wasn’t there. That he had called over 20 times trying to reach me. I called Wicks the following Monday the 10th and spoke to ****. He yelled at me on the phone and said he never said that. He hung up on me twice. He said they fixed my heater so he didn’t understand the problem.
