I went to see the doctor on 28 December, December 2023. paid for my co-pay the day of a few days later the urgent care calls speaks with one of my family members about an MRI asking for $100 to authorize it. The mri was declined. Now the doctor continuously sends me a bill for a phone call where no treatment was given and I wasnt even on the phone to begin with. They are trying to charge me for a visit I never had. Additionally i called the doctor and this was supposed to be taken care of. I paid an additional $20 in their physical location.Business response

This is Destiny from AFC Urgent Care-Riverside. We received a letter from "BBB" regarding a patient (******) complaint. We were not notified about this until 04/15/2024, today when a letter was received regarding the issue. When wanting to reply back to this complaint we were not able to, due to the case being closed. We want to explain the situation. The Patient was seen on 12/28/2023 for an initial outpatient office visit then was called for a Telehealth visit on 01/02/2024 regarding x-results from the initial visit. During the telehealth visit the patient was called to be notified the x-ray was negative but the radiologist suggested the **** the patient denied the *** until he discussed it with his lawyer, and that was the end of the Telehealth call. The patient only paid $20 for telehealth due to copay, and the front desk never knew that the patient was not given any service that day, so they could refund his $20 copay. Ever since then, we have not contacted the patient about the bill. Unfortunately our billing company is based in *************, and they have been billing him. We will follow up with them to Stop billing him, and we will refund the $20 copay for the visit. The patient was charged $100 copay for the initial visit, that one is not to be refunded to him because the service was done. If needed, we will provide the proof of the visit and the notes.
Thank you for reaching out, and the opportunity to explain ourselves.
Sincerely,
