On January 9, 2024, I visited Miners Ravine Dental Group for a complaint of tooth pain. Prior to my visit I had informed the office that I was told by a previous dentist a year ago that I needed a root canal on the tooth with pain. At my visit, the dentist stated she would try to save the tooth, but looked like I would need a root canal. I recommunicated to her that I came in knowing I would need one. She advised that she would do as much work as she could to prep the tooth for a root canal. I paid for the treatment, approximately $218.80 and the office had me pre-pay for my next visit ($198.80), which I have never had to do before. The next day, January 10, 2024, I went an endodontist that was recommended by Miners ravine Dental Group, as I was told the two offices work together. I paid for the root canal at the endodontist which was approximately $103.10 out of pocket. I returned to Miners Ravine Dental Group on January 24, 2024, for a follow-up on the root canal that was completed. At this appointment I paid $41 out of pocket. On February 7, 2024, I returned to Miners Ravine Dental group to finish work on my tooth which included a crown. I contacted the office the day before my appointment to verify I did not owe anything when I came in. The office advised me that I would not owe anything at my visit on February 7, 2024. Miners Ravine completed the crown work and I was charged $79 at that visit after being told I would not owe anything at this appointment. Approximately 1-2 weeks later I received a phone call from Miners Ravine Dental Group stating that I owed them $698.80 which I was told the remainder of what my insurance would not cover. I advised them that I was told by another employee (office manager) in their office that I did not owe anything else as my account was current from the work that was completed. I was then told that when they tell patient's about remainder of fees on their accounts, it's merely an estimation, after the fact.
