I ordered a satellite internet service with a different company than the one which I am filing a complain. An independent agent showed up to install the service, but said that the one that I ordered would not work on my house. He offered up a different company, Skytecwireless, and said that I can purchase the equipment through him for $435. I needed a satellite company because I was unable to get ground service at the time. I asked if I could return the equipment if I received ground internet ****** soon and he said I could return it within 30 days. I feel that this was a bait and switch, and this agent would only make money if he sold me this equipment. Two weeks later I was able to get **** internet established, which is a much faster service, hooked up to my new home. I called Skytecwireless immediately to cancel. I understood that I would not be prorated on the monthly fee or refunded the $35 start up fee, but believed that I could get a refund of the $435 equipment fee. The owner of the company called me and has stated that they can not reuse the modem, which is not true. Modems can be reused. Furthermore, the agent for the company told me I could get a refund within 30 days. I would not have signed up for this service if I didn't think I could get a refund within 30 days. Even though Skytecwireless says they will refund up to 5 days, this is not what I was led to believe from the agent. I paid a total of $656 for 2 weeks of wireless internet service. This is outrageous and I'd like a refund of the $435 modem fee at a minimum.

On March 19th, a skytec wireless dealer came to my house to set up my new internet service. He explained to me that I would pay him for the router and set up the service all through him. He gave two options for routers and two options for internet plans. I chose the more advance router which was $650 as it got better signal and I chose their unlimited data plan which is $175 a month. This company utilizes cellular towers for its service. **** worked best so he put an **** SIM card in my router to run on their network. I had a couple issues with signal that the dealer helped work out, I spent over $1000.00 with him to get an external antenna installed to enhance the signal. For the most part it worked great. In June i experience some issues with the internet not staying connected and reached out to the dealer and he told me some SIM cards had been affected by a blacklist set by **** and they replaced my SIM card right away. This still did not solve my issues. After I get the new SIM card and install it in my router the people at skytec tell me my router is no good anymore. My dealer tells me that my router was also affected by the blacklist and thats what caused it to not support new SIM cards any more. They sent me a new router and a new SIM card and the signal I get is not anything like the advance router I originally had yet Im getting charged the same monthly price for lesser service quality. I could not even use my phone on it the night of 07/31/22 because it was so slow. They acknowledged the blacklist on 08/01/22 when I spoke with ******* but said it wasnt their fault either so I would have to pay for the replacement upgrade AGAIN because its out of warranty since I bought it through the dealer (which I was never told about a shorter warranty). *** spent almost **** dollars to have their internet because it is the only thing that works where we live. The advance router needs to be replaced.
