On August 4, 2023, I bought a car and power train warranty from ***** auto sales. While I was there, the dealer **************** ********************* (aka ****) registered the power train warranty agreement dated 8/4/23 #GSAN00199993 (Agreement #1) with ******************* Train ************************ saying I was covered. Unbeknownst to me he did not send the payment. In December 2023, the engine had problems, and I went to **************. ************************* said the warranty covers the repair but upon review it showed that the car dealer had not sent the $1,500 to *************** to pay for the warranty back in August. SDS could not cover the cost of fixing the car. Additionally, the window for enrollment had closed. I went back to L&F Auto Sales, to question why the payment wasn't sent with the paperwork. The dealer said he used an expired personal credit card and it never updated. He told me to sign a second agreement #GSAN10008178 (Agreement #2), which he backdated to 8/9/23, and resubmitted to *************** along with a new payment, again from his credit card. Note - This second signing was in December. *************** confirmed receiving the second agreement and payment between 12/19-22 but saw the document was backdated to 8/9. Since this agreement and payment was meant to cover a car with the same VIN number as the paperwork received 8/4, it was declined. On 12/22, I took my car back to the dealer. I depend on my car for work and am paying $300 a week for a rental car. I needed him to fix the problem immediately. His solution was for him to take my car to his guy and have him fix it. He would pay up to $1,500. Anything above that would be at my expense. With no options I agreed to this bizarre arrangement. I paid for complete coverage but am being required to pay for the over $1,500 cost. With no warranty, what happens next time? To date I have not heard from him. He has had my car since 12/19, and I am still in a rental car. Please help.

I am rejecting this response because: The response from the dealer did not address the issue.  The issue was about the dealership withholding a $1,550. payment made by the consumer to cover the cost for an engine and power train warranty. The car was bought in August 2023 with the assumption of coverage. The car subsequently needed repair in December and was denied because the dealer never paid the warranty company in August.  When the consumer went back to the dealer in December, he back dated to August, a second submission to the warranty company. The first submission was in August when the car was bought.  The second backdated version was in December but backdated to August.  Since the vin number for the first and second submission were identical, the coverage company denied the submission.  The window had closed. The consumer paid for the coverage, but because of the fraud committed by the dealer, the car does not have coverage. The $1,550. paid to the dealer for the coverage is still outstanding.

I purchased a vehicle from this car dealer on 7/31/23. Since then the dealer has not reported the sale to the *** nor provided me with any registration nor title paperwork. I have been pulled over by the police and have been informed that the car has not been registered in my name. I have called this dealer 10+ times in the past few months and am met with excuse after excuse every time.
