We receive dozens of these letters each year for the various businesses we manage. BBB needs to look into this Corporate Processing Service that solely exists to scam people. They constantly send government-looking documents, coercing payment out of business owners with no services offered in return. There is confusing language and legal suggestions mentioning Due Dates and Fines for not submitting something unrelated to this solicitation on time. At first glance, these sound like they will apply for not submitting payment to this company. They need to be investigated, shut down, and required to return all the money that they have stolen. I've attached an example of a letter. I've been receiving them for years.

They are sending scam mail in attempt to collect money from business that done know any better. This is the third time I have received one of these mailers from them and they are all over the news and government as a scam and fraudulent company. To be fair, Im not sure why their business has not been closed down and why they have not been arrested and fined.

This company is sending out official looking forms trying to scam people into overpaying a Form 501-Corp fee. Spare me the explaination of the small print ' this is a solicitation' . You know **** well youre trying to trick people. This 'business' should be shut down

We were charged $243 for submitting the Declaration of Directors and Officers. They mentioned that filing on time will help us avoid penalties from the ** ******************** We just found out that this organization is fraudulent.

In early January, I received notice that a Declaration of Directors and Officers was due by 1/15/24. I filled it out and sent in the money and the check was cashed. It's not a real government entity. There is no service provided by the company. It is a scam. I want a refund and they should not be in business.

I received a very deceptive invoice for $243 from Corporate Processing Service, which looked official but is really a scam to get people to pay an exorbitant fee to update corporate records (the 501-CORP form). The **************** govt really needs to shut down this deceptive practice.

Received a Declaration of Directors and ******rs 501 - Corp from Corporate Processing Service, **************************************************************. I called the phone number ************** listed for this company and asked to be removed from their mailing list. The recording asks for the Registration number on the form - my registration number is *******. This form fraudulently looks like a Government form. It refers to and quotes: "***** Corp Code Section **** and ********** ******************* (Sections **** and ****) as well as *****. Revenue and taxation Code section *****" as a reason to pay Corporate Processing Service a sum of $243.00 to process the "Request for Information " as required by the ************************ of *****. You have to look the form over very closely to note that it is a Service "Scam". While this business may be a legitimate "PROCESSING" business, this document is very misleading. I have called this company on 3 occasions over the past 5 years to request being removed from their mailing list. I know from experience that the Secretary of State does not send documentation to request required "Statement of Information", though I must file the "Statement of Information" directly to the "Secretary of ****** ****** by January 31 in years ending with an ODD (1,3,5,7,9) number and I may not file any earlier than August of the preceding year ending in an EVEN number (2,4,6,8,0) This form 501-Corp is misleading, and this company, also does this same misleading solicitation with "Government Employer" Posters. Corporate Processing Service should be imposed fines for soliciting in this misrepresentative manner. They are scamming unsuspecting non-profits and getting away with it.

I'm writing to complain about a VERY deceptive letter that was received in the mail. This letter is a solicitation, and does say that on it, but the *************** of this letter is identical to an IRS or FTB form that it'd be very easy for people to misunderstand that it's a piece of marketing. Companies shouldn't be allowed to masquerade with such official looking forms looking for people that aren't detail-oriented enough to know a useless scam when they see it.
