I paid $169 on 3-11-24 to Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center with impression that I had paid to **************** for renewal my business. Until, I received a reminder letter from the actual county. I found out that I had over paid $103 to the third party company. I called them and told them that their paperwork that they mailed to me didnt show their company name anywhere. If I see that I wont pay and I will go the the county office to pay them in person. The agent just told me that I have to write the letter to get the refund and said the company has no website which is not true! Be aware if you are planning to renew your business name and hopefully this review will help you to save your hard earned $$$ from having business. Surprised that this company has been in business over 20 years! What a shame! Oh, and I would like to get the refund.

This business seems to use government records to find businesses with FBN that are expiring in the coming months. Although the form notes that This product or service has not been approved or endorsed by any government agency, and this offer is not being made by any agency of the government, its easy to understand why some people might think this form is legitimate. The company name and address suggest its part of the cluster of government offices in **********.Second, it notes the recipients FBN-related other details throughout the document; even though these details are public record, some information randomly popping up on a document can seem too specific to some who get this mailing, giving the message itself more credibility than is warranted. The phrasing is misleading. Although most of the information merely describes the process of renewal, the agent-less, passive voice constructions throughout position the sender as the authority when, in fact, its the state/county. Its not until the very endsandwiched/buried between signature boxes and imperative statements to return things that readers learn this document is NOT approved, endorsed, or made by any government agency. However, by that time, readers have almost 95% of the document suggesting is operating on behalf of the county/statesomething validated by the number of comments from people who thought this notice was legitimate.Know when your FBN expires (mine is about 8 months out from this notice), know its cheaper to do yourself, and call out such misrepresentative agencies. Shame on them!

My business received solicitation from Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center for processing of the business name renewal. A member of my team mistook the notice as an official request from our county and paid the requested fee $169. Unfortunately, this is fraud, and no service is being provided from this 'company.' The tip off was the real renewal came days later and was only $35. It was not our intent to utilize this company for their fictitious service and kindly request a refund.

Was just about ready to cut a check and send it off until I noticed the statement on the bottom of the page stating that they are not a government agency. Tore it up.

Please be careful of this company posing as a business renewal center. They are NOT. I recently renewed our business name through our county and just received another letter from this 'Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center' with a due date at the end of the current month. The renewal was already filed in Alameda County and it's good for 5 years once it's submitted/processed. They asked for a credit card to process a $159 fee. Best advice is to destroy any letters received from this company.

These scammers got ** 5 years ago for $129. I did not know what the time that I can file a complaint and get our money back. Now 5 years later when it's time for us to renew our fictitious business name, I received a bill for $169 stating that I need to pay it by January 31st ****. They got me once, but they will not get me twice. Quite frankly I would like my $129 back that they scammed before in 2019. I will be filing a complaint with a Better Business Bureau

BEWARE...SCAM!!! I've received a 2nd "FBN Renewal Letter" from Compliance Filings **** stating my business license is about to expire. HINT: YOU NEED TO READ the bottom of the letter that states:"THIS PRODUCT OR SERVICE HAS NOT BEEN APPROVED OR ENDORSED BY ANY GOVERNMENT AGENCY, AND THIS OFFER IS NOT BEING MADE BY AN AGENCY OR THE GOVERNMENT"My advice: Go to your county's website where you originally filed your FBN and renew it online or in person at a fraction of the cost. These scammers are trying to get $169.00 from me - and as well as you too!
