On July 9th, 2022 my son and I went to Pacific Audio for a car stereo and installation. We had been there the week before on July 2nd. for an alarm and installation. There is an issue with the alarm as sometimes it will only unlock the driver door and other times it will unlock the other doors too. I've read some forms and it seems as though the alarm was not installed correctly and we are afraid to ask Pacific Audio about it, as we have learned they do things on their installs with the hope that you'll come back to have things done right, and then they can charge you more money. My case and point, on July 9th, I paid $853 plus to buy a stereo from them and have it installed. Only to learn the next day that they didn't install the stereo correctly so that we could enjoy all the features. There are two builtin cables on the back of the stereo to offer two different ports to offer two different functions. They only installed one cable for one port/one function, so when we went back, they charged another $135 for a second cable and installation of that cable. They told us everything would now be working, but we've learned that wasn't true. There is an HDMI port and cable they didn't connect anything to, so that function isn't working. When I ask about it, I was told it would be another $135 for another cable and installation. No other audio installation places use those tactics to nickel and dime you for more money. What's the point of buying a stereo if all the functions don't work! These guys are crooks and use the bait and switch, (told us one price, and then after doing some of the work charged extra to complete the job). Please help, thank you!!!Business response

We installed an alarm and a radio on Mr. ******* ****** Truck. The alarm works and it was tested before the customer picked up his truck. One click allows unlocking driver door, two clicks unlock all doors.
The radio installation comes with running a USB cable. To add or custom mount any additional USB cables or HDMI, it cost more for part/installation and it is optional. The customer agreed to add dual USB extension for $135. Our receipt indicates that there is no refund for jobs completed so we cannot offer him a refund.

I am rejecting this response because: The business owner/shop should have told us up front that the stereo only comes with one USB Cable and that (Not all of the stereo functions will work after the installation unless you pay extra for additional parts and labor) had we known that we would Not have dealt with them! I purchased the same brand **** **** from West Coast Audio a year ago, and they never told me there would be an additional charge for labor and parts to hook up a second USB Cable so that my stereo would work and all the functions work. Pacific Audio sold us a **** ****, and then only hooked up one USB Cable when they knew it takes 3, and they knew that not all of the features would work unless those USB Cables were hooked up. Nobody and I mean nobody would ever buy a more expensive car stereo, pay more money for it, only to have all of the features not work. It doesn't make sense that you would buy something and not be told that not all of the features will work unless you spend extra money for additional parts and labor. Had Pacific Audio been honest with us and told us upfront that not all the features will work with our installation, we could have gone somewhere else. Again, on my **** **** they West Coast Audio charged an installation fee, and everything worked. What Pacific Audio is doing is charging an installation fee and never telling you not all the features will work, so that when you come back, they can charge you additional money for both parts and labor. I have read some of Pacific Audio's Yelp reviews, and they are known to nickel and dime customers for everything they can to make extra money. I'm fine with paying the extra money for the second USB Cable $45, but I should be refunded the second charge for labor to install that USB Cable that should have been installed with the first installation, and I believe I'm due a refund for that installation fee!
Sincerely,
